I Min raise utg, shorty shoves...............
8$ 180...... I open utg for a min raise.......shorty shoves.
would it be standard for me too lay this hand down knowing that his range beats us. Or call knowing were behind but getting decent odds?
whats your take on this hand?
PokerStars - Hold'em Tournament - $300/600 Blinds -$50 Antes 8 Players
Hand Converter by Pokerhand.org
(CO): $13,420
(BTN): $9,617
(SB): $3,725

(MP1): $4,875(VILLIAN)
(MP2): $7,150

HERO raises to $1,200, (1 folds), VILLIAN raises to $4,825 and is all-in,

If you were going to fold to a reraise, utg, then why play that hand in the first place. The only reason I see you playing that hand is if your opponents were very nitty, in which place this should be a fold.

Re: I Min raise utg, shorty shoves...............
Against this range:
77+,A9s+,KJs+,ATo+,KQo
You have a 41% equity and you need 33% to break-even, so unless you think he is tighter than this, you should call really. This is why you minraise in the first place right? To call the shorties who shove on you.
With your stack and your cards you should be calling at least MP1, UTG+1 and SB, unless you have a read that they are waaay tighter than the above range.

Re: I Min raise utg, shorty shoves...............
my range I had him on was AJ+ AQ+.. I also thought he might of had any pair which should of justified why I should call with ATs and take a flip with decent odds. But I figured I was crushed too AJ+ so I folded. even tho I had good odds calling off.

I don't think it is as tight as you think. Even if it's this tight: 77+,AJs+,AJo+, it is still slightly +EV because of pot odds.

You have to consider the money already in the pot as you probably know already so you aren't really taking a flip here, but calling as an underdog, but it is still +EV because of the money already in the pot.
So if you have good odds to call then, obviously, you should be calling.

Re: I Min raise utg, shorty shoves...............
I think this is pretty much a snap call just because of what is already in the pot. Odds are good, and you will still have a very playable stack if you lose. Entertaining the idea of a fold, do you have any reads on the shorty? The only way I see folding here is if he has been super nitty up to this point, but even then I would still probably call. Like somebody else said, if you were going to fold to this raise you probably shouldnt have played the hand

Re: I Min raise utg, shorty shoves...............
Trivial r/c spot, you´re getting 2:1 on the call i would call with any AX hand basically and ATs its just too strong to fold here
EDIT: YOu should know in advance before opening that you were going to r/c UTG+1, MP+1 and SB potential 3bet pushs and r/f the other guys on the table, if you arent able to r/c these guys just fold it pre then.
