Shove or Fold. Never calling.

Against some villains I am folding and assume your f/e is nr zero as no V should be r/f with 155bb and antes in play. But it's probably close, depending on payout and mood.....some days I probably jam.

This is an honest Q: Kurt (and others), you really think regs don't b/f with 15BB? I think I find that statement kind of shocking, since his pf range prob has small PP, medium SC, and A8s type hands that wouldn't always call a jam.

I think it is fairly std to assume Villain isnt folding in this spot. He may do but I think it is bad form to r/f with that sized stack. That is certainly the advice I have picked up from books and other forums on this site. The problem being that shortening your stack will deplete your f/e when you need it.

in this particular play Villain is opening from MP so should never be r/f with that stack imho.

just watched a video yesterday after posting itt that also gave the "never b/f w 15BB" advice. I guess this must be a leak in my game, but intuitively this makes me scratch my head. IDK if maybe I'm opening too wide with 15BB or just not calling off enough. From MP I'd raise 87s+, any PP, J9s, KJo, Axs, A8o+...that's just off the top of my head, depends on gameflow and sizes behind me. but do I really want to call off with A8, J9s, etc when I still have 13BB left? Guess I need to study this part of my game more. Others want to chime in, I'd appreciate it, or if someone has a decent link that addresses this, let me know. TYIA.

Hello, can you tell me the name of The vídeo you saw ?

pretty straight forward jam to me. Many people have r/f ranges with this stack size and even shorter

I'm pretty sure it was on pokerstrategy.com, title something like Colin and hotjenny314 take on MTT. I can't say it was great, but few vids really are. There were a couple of tidbits I picked up, like how wide she calls shoves, and the 15BB no b/f idea.

You are wise to canvass opinions of others as I am still on the learning curve.

My opinion of that range is that it is too wide from MP. Your suited connectors play well in deeper stack scenarios and I would open fold as you don't want to call off a 3b. I would potentially jam them from the button though. A8o is borderline, as is J9s - I would probably jam the former and maybe fold the latter. In fact I am in shove/fold for most two cards - the problem with that strategy is that I probably need to jam QQ+ otw inducing looks to obvious. But it is pretty unexploitable!

As you have requested, would like to hear some thoughts from others as this is pretty common ground.

Vs a reg you can shove very wide profitably. Every PP, any suited ace, any suited broadway hand and suited connectors like T9s, so this is a easy jam, unless you have a read ofcourse.
