flatting AJ vs EP flatting AJ vs EP

02-04-2014 , 02:04 PM
Should i flat AJ in the t20-t100 stages of ~90-120 man SNGS while a bigstack? (vs regs and randoms)? I know my range is beaten very strong but...is there any incentive for me to do that...or that is guaranteed lost money?
Also...how about AJ in 12 bigs through 6 bigs in the >t200 level vs EP raise from tight regular or randoms(generally 14/14 or less)? Should I shove because I only have 10 bigs or that is not an excuse to shove a hand that is behind their range? (I am excluding the case in which the EP raisers are fish or very loose players versus which I am flipping or better).
I realise that is a fishy question.

I am from Romania and a lot of romanian players ship it under 12 with AJ regardless(with only one villain ahead) but i saw acoimbra and other coaches throwing them instantly(not only 12 but through 5-6).

the answer is going to be 'it depends'

As for having AJ with 6-12bb - It rarely going to be a mistake to ship it (though it does still depend on other factors)

t20 blinds is very different from t100 blinds, and the change in effective stack depth means it's a totally different phase of the game, so don't try and lump them together and play them in the same style.

As always, post some actual hands which represent the specific situation you are unsure about — so, here I'd suggest asking about a couple of AJ hands against EP raisers at each of the blind levels you mention, and go from there.

Good luck!
