Re: Early Game 45/180man SNG

"SngNits" ranges are fine, i play slightly tighter myself but not much and depending on the table will play very close to that range. I think that 95% of 180s players are lol bad post flop though so playing the nittier ranges is probably fine to avoid all the tricky post flop spots you will find yourself in. Also agree with what mckrogh said, people who just come in and say those ranges are bad need to open up your mind and think outside the box a little more, there isnt just one way of beating the games, there are many ways depending on how confident your are in your play: post flop, reading and adjusting to game flow and dynamics, adjusting to the many regs opening and shove/fold ranges, how to get max value from the many different style of regs and fish etc etc I think you'll find majority of 180s regs are good at one or 2 of these things but the better and more looser regs are more likely to be good at all of them which allows them to open up alot more and just basically own people in alot of spots... most people are just too content with learning a basic strategy and sticking to it forever because it can make them $2 per game or whatever, study, learn and think beyond that and you'll be suprised

*Rant over*

I doubt.

Two points -

1. for me early game means, 10/20-15/30-25/50 level. Here in 25/50 where usual stacks are 30bb, the ranges is not good. those ranges are acceptable when you have room to play postflop like in cash game, ~100bb effective. 75BB still manageable. but loosing chips from 30bb stack for opening those ranges from ep is terrible, definitely it's table dependent so not general.

2. Those ranges are only good when you have significant postflop skills over other in the field. That's not very general either in low buy in 180's (as mcfc1234 said and I think so as well).

Hence, for a general start that range is not standard at all.

Re: Early Game 45/180man SNG

yea the ranges aren't standard in general but for some people to come in and say its awful without actually thinking why it can be good is just shallow minded. I also think about the point sayakmitra made about opening tighter as stacks become shallower, I tend to agree but start to tighten up alot as I drop to the ~20bb mark. With 25bb+ I think its still ok to open quite wide in alot of spots as people just don't play back enough, alot of regs are too tight and I still dont mind playing vs fish regardless of stacks and for the people that do play back often then I guess its down to your own judgement based on table image/history with certain people as to whether or not an open would be good
