Ive started mixing in some of these. Especially at quiet times like morning and afternoons as they seam to fill up pretty quick.

I'm sorry if this format has been discussed here when stars changed from 180 man. I was playing mtt's on 888 at the time and haven't been able to find anything with the searches to read/ bump.

Firstly the standard of opposition. Surprisingly Ive encountered some pretty terrible fish. The regs however are pretty dam good. (scoping one yesterday he has earnings in excess of 360k, I only scoped him as he had been super tight on FT and wasn't sure if he was tight/ scared or had just been card dead with a middling stack.) I had 3 final tables yesterday and hardly any weak players had made it to the business end.

Lots of fish early on though so still think my expectation will be positive. I guess if you are a recreational player and you play just one table you don't want to wait for 180 seats to fill.

Any thoughts on average field size. What are we talking a range between 40-90 off peak to peak?

Leading on to BRM. If we were only playing these what BRM should we use. With the smaller field sizes we can expect to be ITM more so lower variance and therefore lower BRM needed?

Ok if you only wanted to play 27+ would need a bigger BR as you haven't got the option to come down in stakes but I'm fine playing a mix and incorporating more $8 and 3.5$ 180Man rebuys.

One other consideration regarding BRM is the very shallow effective stack sizes on the FT and the variance we will therefore encounter on the FT's.

So what are we thinking a 100BI roll for these alone. and also a 100BI roll for my mixed strategy with flexibility in regards to game choice. Is this pretty aggressive? ( poker is not my main income so I'm ok with some minimal risk of ruin)

Adjustment in poker play for the shallow FT stacks? Just getting used to it with analysis with HRC as we go? Yesterday a circa 5bb stack got 3 shoves through in a row 5 handed, ok so every one may of had trash every time but FE seams to be significantly higher at much lower effective stack sizes just due to the very shallow stack sizes and the ICM awareness of the opposition.

Last point is they allow some game selection especially when playing a mixed strategy, if one had a reggy lobby we can just let it go and wait for the next one which doesn't really apply to the 180 man's.

Thanks to anyone who read all this. I would appreciate any ones thoughts on the subject.

fish like this format because its ok money for 1st for relatively small investment and they dont go for hours.

i would say 20% of regs are good, 50% are ABC regs from 180s/90s/45s and 30% are b/e or 5% ROI nits playing 25-30 tables of every sng that is running at the moment.

BRM, I would go for 200buyins because yes, fields is smaller, but a lot of regs in those games make it swingy when you play during peak times.

Definietely working with hrc won't hurt.
If you want to avoid being shallow on the FT, try to be very aggresive on SFT. You can collect a lot of chips by being aggro monkey as most bad regs and recs want to make it to the FT. Yes, you increase variance in the shortrun but you decrease variance in the longrun, because when you make the FT with big CL you have good chance of taking it down simply by putting a lot of ICM pressure on. More regs on the FT = more ICM awareness = more value in being CL.

I personally grind 3r 8 11 and 15 in the mix. Its $12 abi when doublestacked in 3r.

wasn't really going to play these during peak times, going for 3.5r and 8's 180 mans during peak and maybe some 4.5 to start session of with. maybe 1 or 2 of these to fill start of session instead of the 4.5. ( not sure yet)

Also is there ever any reason to late reg.
