Student miniraise isos. I wouldn't play it that way. How would you play it?

Poker Stars $2.28+$0.22 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t150/t300 Blinds + t25 - 8 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

UTG+1: t6960 M = 10.71
MP1: t3145 M = 4.84
MP2: t3535 M = 5.44
Hero (CO): t5830 M = 8.97
BTN: t2340 M = 3.60
SB: t6320 M = 9.72
BB: t4690 M = 7.22
UTG: t8458 M = 13.01

Pre Flop: (t650) Hero is CO with 8 8
2 folds, MP1 calls t300, 1 fold, Hero raises to t600,

We have less than 20bb's so we can just shove.

I'd shove too, but interested to hear students reasoning for min raising?

Was it to induce SB/BB to shove or to look stronger and get them to fold out some hands???

Shove for sure.

stats/reads on mp1?

Either shove or raise to 1050-1200 depending on reads. The min raise just gives the BB and limper amazing odds to draw at the flop if they want to. If you raise to 1050 you can get away if either the SB or BB is a huge nit and 3bet ships it and you still commit your stack against the smaller stacks so they have no FE. If you can't fold to either a SB or BB shove because they're not nits then just ship it yourself.

it's shove or fold decision, I hate 3betting here on 19BB when our only decision post is shove any flop. I think shove pre is fine
