Your flatting range in the BB here is behind his raising range. This flop is awful for both of you but way better for him as he has a smaller range, including pocket pairs and Ax that beat you.
Think about it tho, if he is a thinking player, he knows that you won't donk out with a set, it looks so weak, so he can just flat with a load of his range in position.
Against a weak player, you've just folded out every single hand you beat that they are checking back to you on the flop, and you are building a pot against all the hands that you are beat by. Out of position.
