man ferny I can see running a stable of horses or charging something for the vid, but to just put this out there for even regs to pick up some spots is gross imo. I mean how can this be +ev? You can justify training ppl cause at least ur making $ but this is absurd.

This forum (and the people I have met since I started posting here), have improved my game a bunch and have helped turn me from a fish into a winning player. Breck and Bryan; you guys are included in that category.

Everyone wants the door to be shut behind them; I completely understand that. I can see where you guys are coming from because it's an attitude I held myself for quite some time. It's just a difference of opinion or philosophy I guess and whilst you guys may not agree with it, I wanted to give something back to the community as a sign of thanks for the help I have received.

Was it +ev for me? Or any other well-established regs? No, probably not. However, I do also think you are over-estimating the -ev of this video.

This is a video of me single-tabling a $2/180. The vast majority of my commentary was a discussion of some 180-man FAQs that are posted ad nauseam on this forum (such as attainable ROI, number of buy-ins needed, etc). I tried to cover the basics and I don't think I revealed anything too ground-breaking strategy-wise. What was covered here was basically the tip of the ice-berg.

In the end, success in 180's (or in any other form of poker), is up to the individual player. It comes down to putting in the volume and reviewing your play. It comes down to those grueling hours spent in SNGwiz and Pokerstove, identifying your leaks and finding ways to improve them. It comes down to discipline - to practicing sound BRM and exercising good emotional control.

I don't believe that this is a video that will "kill the games" or vastly improve anyone's ROI. It might help point some people in the right direction, but in the end, any significant improvement is going to be up to them.

i disagree with ferny, helping people sucks and should not be condoned. for every bit of information he puts out here i suggest someone posts 2 pieces of misinformation.

I would just like to add that an acceptable 180 sample for determining a player's true roi is around 350 games folks.

Lol, cmon. As if a losing player is gonna turn breakeven+ from watching this one video. Upon hearing it, your account immedeatly turns to gold star status.

Not to take away from your video at all ferny, quality post, but honestly....

Curious to watch this but the download doesn't work for me. It either doesn't start (address could not be reacher) or stops after reaching 2-3%, just stuck at 0.0kb/s forever.

Thanks for the video, gonna have a look

I just re-uploaded it and tried downloading again. It's working fine for me through this link (the same one posted in the OP):

Downloading fine for me.

If by "fine" you mean a bit faster than a snail's pace, then it's working fine for me too. This brings back memories of dial-up...

Downloaded and watched it. Enjoyed the video thanks alot for taking the time to do this. I'm currently thinking about grinding the 2/180s soon, should I even bother trying with 100 buy ins or would it be way too much variance for that BR to handle?

Thanks

Luc

Same here, minus the wanting to cry I suppose

Finally managed to download it through some obscure megaupload hotlinking site at an oldschool 50 kb/sec only to find out the background noise is louder than your voice so I can't understand what you're saying Tried to remove the background noise using some free software but failed so throwing in the towel now

But thx for the attempt at re-uploading and hopefully other people have better luck.

As I said in the video, with only 100 buy-ins there will be a significant risk of ruin. You can certainly give it a shot, if you don't mind reloading your account the times that you bust it... just be aware that success is by no means guaranteed with such a small number of buy-ins.

If I were starting from scratch at the $2s again, this is exactly what I would do.
