2.50 180 man - 88 facing raise and jam 2.50 180 man - 88 facing raise and jam

This is a spot I really struggle with in general (ie. how to proceed with mid pairs facing significant action)

UTG - 43/35 over 37 hands
BTN - 38/25 w a 3b of 16.7 over 8 hands

[converted_hand][hand_history]Poker Stars, $2.28 Buy-in (300/600 blinds, 50 ante) No Limit Hold'em Tournament, 8 Players
Poker Tools Powered By Holdem Manager - The Ultimate Poker Software Suite. View Hand #22208721

MP1: 3,550 (5.9 bb)
MP2: 8,730 (14.6 bb)
MP3: 13,132 (21.9 bb)
CO: 3,102 (5.2 bb)
BTN: 8,107 (13.5 bb)
Hero (SB): 20,205 (33.7 bb)
BB: 13,570 (22.6 bb)
UTG+2: 12,719 (21.2 bb)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 8 8
UTG+2 raises to 1,200, 4 folds, BTN raises to 8,057 and is all-in

Hero?

What range are you getting in here?

Also, how do you proceed if btn just folds??

Thanks

given that button jams over a minraise of UTG it s an obvious fold to me with 88... I would shove like TT+, AK off and AKs

and if button folds I would Jam AK+, 99+

sounds good, if BTN folds then I would go maybe a bit wider something like 88+, AQs (depends on how ofter OR opens UTG)

fold now. Easy jam if Button had folded with UTG being 43/35.

Ya this was a much easier fold than I had thought when I noted it in game but i still thought it would bring up some interesting discussion.

Fidstar, given the btn jam, what range would you continue with here?

TT AK sounds good.

without btn I would probably go with AJ, 77+
45/35 is a lot

When BTN shoves, instafolding 88.
When BTN doesn't shove;
I grind a lot of these 2.5 180 mans and in my opinion, most of the players with stats like 43/35 don't fold once they've put money in preflop.
Even when you would jam 33bb..
So their calling range is at def around 22+, A8+ and w 88 you've only got 53% equity.
I wouldn't jam and risk 2/3 of my stack.
Your near the money and you have 33bb which is a very good stack in a 2.5 turbo sng.
Jam w at least TT+ imo.
