I would be hesitant about gii pf w 80+ bb's w ak but in a one dollar ty it's probably okay. One thing to note is that people don't typically 4 bet shove 80 bb's pf w monster hands, so usually they're going to show up with the type of hand that he had... a hand that wants to take it down pf or see all five cards and pray they are flipping.

It can be better to play $1 at roulette than flipping +83BB with AK. no matter which buyin, discipline is important, i think

I agree that discipline is important, but my point is (generally speaking) in low dollar MTT's players are going to be gii with worse/weird hands with more bb's than say a $20, $30 etc... MTT.
I actually saw a hand last night very similar to the op's hand. And I know This is just one small example but last night in a $11 ty I saw a player cold 4-bet shove w 96 suited with 80 bb's during the second level of tournament. The 3-better called.... with AKo.
I wouldn't call it off all the time w ak, in fact I'd probably be more inclined to fold but a call isn't the worst thing.

V has exactly 5000 chips - is this their first hand?- This would tip me towards a call.

Too early to risk your tournament life or 80BB with AK. If you win the flip, there is no guarantee that you will cash out. So no need to be impatient. About the poker hand you mentioned, there are a lot of unknown, all-in player is tilted?, caller is a good player?, they have a history?, they don't have a BRM?. Risk/Reward and long run are two magical concepts in poker

    Good luck..
