Opening pre is fine and I probably prefer it.

Definitely c/f this flop though, smacks his range so so so hard

This. If you think he's spazzing a lot then checking the flop would still be better. Against most you just aren't going to be able to justify getting it in here under any circumstance. He's going to just shut down to bets with his small pairs/garbage that whiffed etc... Ppl flatting here with Qx/Kx hands aren't going anywhere most of the time. Just give up.

Can somebody explain why opening > shoving ?

Do we open raise our whole range in this spot in 2011 ?

    Hi rotisseur,

Presumably, you'll be inducing more reshoves with a wider range when you open raise (IE I think randoms getting dealt 44/ATs/whatever behind you in the SB are a lot more likely to reshove over an open than they are to call jams). You'll also induce more flat calls with silly hands. Small raises are going to maximize value vs most playing ranges behind you. While this flop kind of sucks, there are plenty of flops where we're still fine with getting it in. Shoving has to be profitable, but I think with a hand as strong as TT, you're losing value vs. poor playing 15+ BB stacks behind you.

As far as open raising our whole range, probably, yeah..but for me it'll depend to some extent on the bigger stacks behind. Also, to clarify in case this is what you were getting at...not raising my whole range because I'm worried about balancing my ranges and getting exploited vs. random $2 180 players. It would be moreso to maximize FE and/or not have to raise/fold hands less strong than TT that I still want to play on with where I can't call jams but still have some OK equity when called etc...
