only 12 hands of villian playing 55/45. SNGwizard advised me to shove 1.8% JJ+? Kinda tight isnt it?

    this is an ICM spot
there's a player left with only 2.7bb and another one that has less than you, so you should play tighter since you'll move up in the money if one of those players gets knocked out

I do think JJ+ here is way too tight though
especially against a really agressive player with a HUGE stack on the CO

I would shove, might be a leak

CO's raise amount looks weird, not sure what to make of a 4BB raise here ...
It looks really strong, so that makes is scary and ppl will be less likely to call him, if he's thinking player he shouldn't do this with a premium hand. If he's not a thinking player it might just be what it looks like, a really strong hand.

he did 4bb raise a few times in the FT. table is generally tight, everyone folding alot to his 4bb raise.

Hand is too strong to fold here, especially with the read his 4x raise is fairly standard for him. This is a spot i ignore ICM a bit and give myself a better chance to win it.

If we discount the 4x open as being a particularly strong hand (since it seems to be standard for him) I think we should definitely shove. Who cares about laddering from 6th to 5th, top3 is where it's at.

    Gotta get it in here

AQ with 8BB is quite an easy all-in here, very likely to be in front but even so, can't pass this spot as unlikely to get many better.

Yeah really cant be folding here,in it to win it as they say...........

ok thx for the input. How abt low pocket pairs like 22-66? Should we get it in too?
    04-15-2014 , 12:48 PM
I would get it in with 88+, but that might be slightly on the nitty side I assume.
Shoving 22-66 would more than often result in a flip if villain calls. Based on his very wide calling range, it wouldn't be a good shove ICM wise.

ICM wise it would definetely be a fold. I think i would let it go here because the blinds are going to hit the small stacks first and its better for my BR in the longrun (which is the reason im playing poker.).

To be honest i dont really know whats best here maybe we should be shoving JJ+ AQo+.
Definetely letting go of any other hand

getting that in and way wider obv

I would get it in here, but it's close to the bottom of my range, the big stacked CO will be wide and by raising 4x has given you just about zero fold equity.
In SnGWiz you might as well set the CO as a push and see what shows up vs different CO push ranges.
The CO should be really wide - perhaps 75% but probably isn't so I'd use a more conservative range 40 to 50% and at this level a shove will be somewhere near even, and I'm willing to be a little bit more reckless than the pure icm result.

I would just hate a fold here.
What if the shorty picks up and hand and doubles up and another stack takes the blinds and antes and you hit the blinds with garbage.

You find yourself the SS quickly. What kind of hand are you waiting for?
I think you have to go with AQ here. Card distribution does not see you getting a better hand in the next 2 orbits soooooooooooooooooo shove it.
