Re: $2 180 HU

flop is fine esp with reads
turn you should share your thought process, in general it's unlikely to be optimal

what his range after checking in the bb
donking/flatting a raise

how do the hands in this range respond to your shove?
with the hand you have, T5, are those responses good for us?

example:
he could certainly have any 7x in his range, (maybe with reads AND the fact a lot of weaker players sometimes just shove flop with them, you can discount slightly 72 and 73)

when we shove i think it's pretty safe to say he is always calling with any 7x.
so with our hand, that result is really bad.

he could have a4, a5, 45. ask yourself the same question etc.

and overall weigh this with what happens if we decide to bet small? or check back?
this is an e.g. of a generic thought process you can take in thinking about spots like this. you also have to weigh out his range, for example he "could have 22, 33 or 77" and shoving turn is super big disaster vs those hands, but they are really unlikely (due to action, blockers, combination totals etc) so it doesnt mean just because one small/unlikely part of his range responds in a certain way that we should be careful about it.

this is also a reason people who are weak hand readers, or just starting to learn how to hand read often make mistakes. they think about one part of villains range that makes sense with a certain line, then this part sticks in their mind like crazy. then they weigh it wayyyyy more than they should. for e.g. people tend to put villains on missed draws way too much, then forget about heaps of value combos villain could have too, and just call.

anyway end/rant
i promise if you read the above and think about it it will help you though

Re: $2 180 HU

thanks mate! got to digest it rethink it a few times...

well my thoughtprocess was:

on the flop any 7x,3x,2x..draws...

turn overshove i think i could even get a 7x out sometimes.
When he called the flop raise he either has a weak made hand, or a draw himself. so i thought if he doesnt have exactly a straight i can still fold out a ton of hands.

PS: the turn shove was a combination of a bluff or for value dependant on his actual holding. I mean this board combined with my line..limp, 3bet flop, shove turn...looks scary for any 1 pair holding no matter igf he even has an overpair to the board, that he was trappoing preflop with.

Re: $2 180 HU

You can't really jam intending to combine a bluff/value (I guess they call it a "merge"), he has a range, and there is only one optimal/most +EV option vs. that range based on what the range is and how he plays the different parts of it vs. what plays you make.
