Re: 2/180 FT call a shove with Q9o for 2 BB.

If villain is on any two, Q9o is the the bottom of our calling range according to holdemresources. It starts being -EV once CO is shoving 85% or less. All assuming BB is calling atc.

In the "real world" Birkin's argument holds some truth, winning this pot increases our future equity dramatically, since we would get a stack with Fold Equity, that could even hurt other players' stacks. Adding this to the mix, I think we should call here.

Re: 2/180 FT call a shove with Q9o for 2 BB.

Hi again guys,

I thought the topic was exhausted but I recently started reading Kill Everyone and got a few insights about this hand which I would like to share and join the FOLD community. I just want to add some different angles that this hand can be viewed.

First, bubble factor between players should be considered. While I am the shortest stack (only a fraction smaller than the pushing guy) my bubble factor against him is well above 1. So, I need a better hand to adjust for the correct odds to call.

Second, the case is more complex because the BB is kinda obliged to call ATC because of pot odds and his bubble factor against us is nearly 1 due to his relatively deep stack. PLaying in a 3-way pot which I think is more than 90% the case I need much better hand than Q9o despite I am mega short. Moreover, given the other shortstack, if I was the first to move-in, I have to wait (maybe) for a better hand again, because my bubble factor against the big stack is much higher.

I consider a third pointer as well. The OR covers me by a fracion but this is enough to grab the prize for 5th place if we both get eliminated by the big stack and I will have to take the 6th place prize. So, it makes sense to call only if I cover even by 1 chip the OR, so I really play at least for the 5th place.

All in all, I think that those arguments outweigh the statement that "we are short and a tripple up will bring us back in the game".

i dont understand this.

we get a free chance that he will be thrown out by the BB who is probably calling him very light being the big stack. why not take the 60% chance BB will win this hand and gamble our ICM equity with q9o which may be an underdog to his range is he is not pushing 100%?

flawed logic

mainly bb should call like 70% here right? so make it our free chance villain loses first is like 35% or whatever..shouldn't we take it since its free? otherwise we would need more than 50-50% equity
