dunno if it is profitable to broke early w/ AK at the 2.50s.

My default line would be flatting first hand and folding second. Generally you should try to avoid variance flips in the early stages.

1. I'm flatting in position no need to get it in this early with AK against villains 4bet range. And as I would fold to the 4bet calling is preferable.

2. Id be calling the shove as well. Villains range includes a ton that we dominate. Although you'll get the occasional fish doing this with AA KK etc. you could fold purely cause its so early and you can find a spot with less variance but your probably giving up to much ev

It's a $2/180. Getting both in without reads should be profitable.

probably calling both, they are shoving so wide here, especially the guy in the 2nd hand. Sometimes you will see guys with TT+ here, but mostly they will have sth like AJ, AQ, AK or a smaller PP like 22-99, or even KT+, JT+ if they are really bad

Re: $2 180 AK shove in early phase?

ak early in a 2.50 donkament is a moneymaker.
there are different ways to play this hand depending on your position.

from utg to btn, i like to limp and let somebody raise and most of the times there will be many other callers, and when it gets to me > PUSH PUSH

From btn i just made it 3x...

Re: $2 180 AK shove in early phase?

Does it make sense to flip with AK in the early stage? The variance is very high and a won coin flip does not equal a cash profit.

Here I compare myself with 3 Reg's. They seem to avoid coin flips in early stages. No idea how this low bust rate is otherwise possible?

1 Flat, 2 fold.
Blinds aren't high enough, and fish tend to be shoving more pairs than ax in the early levels. In a 2.50 your skill edge should be high enough not to have to take risks early game pre ante

+1 he he he.
I learned from a video from Zekesito that you never fold AK in a 180 donkament because you have to get a lot of chips to finish 1st which is your aim not to just reach itm
Micro cash. I only think about folding in this situation if this is a 9 men sit and go.
