Is the shove on the flop fine? Would shoving pre have been better?

    pre is fine.
Dont like shoving flop. Your basically turning your hand into a bluff you may get called by 88 99 but generally when you are called its almost always going to be by jx. Which at this bi villain is going to have a fair amount.
Your hand is either way ahead or way behind and now were getting it in with 2 outs. I prefer a bet call on flop which ok it would still be the same result but now villain may have some bluffs and semi bluffs in his range. I would also make it less then half pot, to leave some room for villain to think he has some fe on his shoves.
Dont get me wrong im defo going bust here our 3 bet nealry puts us over what would be considered a commitment threashold but with just one over and it being a jack and there being a flush drawer possible vs an aggressive villain ( assuming he is also aggro post) im going to be getting this in in very bad shape vs his actual holding.

yes i think you can shove pre..but when you shove on the flop if villain calls you the most times you will behind him.i suggest a raise on the flop and you evaluate the situation

i think shoving pre is better.
OTF you give him about 32% odds. He has many siuted type cards in his hand there, Jacks or overcards/overpais.
So if he has 2 , he ll call.
If he has J, he ll call
If he has 2 overcards with a he may be calling if he likes to chase hands.
I don't likethe spot otf, with no reads on him.

What reads do you have on him?

3bet t800 is better though pre. you save some chips on these kind of flops.

    Cheers,
    Teo.

I hate to disagree but i think 3 betting as small as 800 is pretty bad. We give him excellant pot odds to call with all sorts of things. We are then going to be playing oop with a hand that plays badly post flop. Just choosing to 3 bet small so we can get away on any bad flops seams strange when nearly all flops are bad for our hand.
I would much rather shove then 3 bet that small.

3bet to 850-980 or shove pre ( altough shove gives as little too much fold equity with hand this strong )

otf , bet 40%/call off , shove any turn
