Ok the new view distance sucks.

My first thoughts on the patch:

- Having half my ****ing spellbook disappear sucks.
- Not having glyphs sucks.
- The talent choices for HPallies leave a lot to be desired. Nothing really fun, it seems (wtf at lack of speed boosting talents)
- Why the **** do I have to go to the transmoger to turn off helm and cape, now?
- The new nameplates are ****ing aids
- WHY THE **** IS SPIRIT NO LONGER A THING!?

and lastly

- HOLY ****ING **** IS THE NEW VIEW DISTANCE ****ING CANCEROUS AIDS

Also, my FPS pretty much has been cut by at least half (usually 75%) since the patch dropped, and I was running 120FPS on full ultra pre-patch. Been running at about 30, now, and that's not even on ultra. Hoping this is just an addon issue, for the moment.

****'s a dumpster fire. So many things to be pissed off about in the hour I was on.

Yeah view distance is wtf. Holy **** at the ability gutting. Happy about the transmog collection page though. So much bank room back.

Didn't mind lack of speed boosting much when I was on my DK, then I switched to my rogue...

I miss Blazing Speed on my Mage big time.

The view distance is really bad. I feel like I'm staring right up my mount's butt the whole time.

I'm also seeing really low framerates. I was excited to see how my 960 handled it and assumed that everything would be maxed but even on detail level 7 I'm sitting at like 15-25 fps.

In the Interface menu there's a camera tab that has a max distance slider. Mine was reset to the minimum. I maxed it out and the zoom distance is better now. Not awesome but I can actually see what's going on around me now.

My Mage has 126 days played, and only 22 of them are at level 100. The rest is probably an even split between Wrath, Cata, and Mists. Maybe heavy on Mists because I loved that expansion.

I really hope that Legion is more interesting than Warlords.

The complaining ITT is making me glad I quit 14 months ago and have no desire to even get Legion, at least not at the moment.

But that's 14 months that you could have been running HFC.

Finally deleted WoW off my HD today. Was holding onto a slim hope for legion since some old guildes were gonna play again, but I just cant convince myself to get it.

i probably quit around that time - still undecided about legion. can get it for $40 at release with amazon prime - but i feel like i'm getting a discount to buy it for what it should've been anyway. not sure its enough.

Subscribed again with a token. Haven't gotten legion yet but I'm going through the trouble of cleaning out my bags and I have 200k gold which I'm guessing will get me more than enough gametime to play until I burn out again.

They seem to have removed like 80 percent of warlock abilities. It's kinda weird tbh.

uninstalled the game by weighin the pros and cons of playing again and diving into this new expansion (i.e. i get addicted very easily and cant stand being casual or mediocre).

What makes me the most sad is I feel like this expansion could easily be the best one yet.

Tough choice.

The artifact system is going to make this expansion a "daily chore" expansion if you plan on raiding, so while it could be one of the best yet, it's probably not a good one for those still feeling the burn out from WoD.

As a pure PvP'er i am extremely wary of this expansion. They did a lot of things to improve QoL for PvP'ers, but at the end of the day, I suspect the PvE'ers are going to have a strong edge in Arena / RBG's, since they will be way ahead in gear iLevel and Artifact power. It's going to make it tough on those of us who just want to log in a few times a week to queue 2's and 3's.

I have enough gold and tokens to keep my sub up indefinitely so I'll be giving the expansion a go, but I expect to be heading back to HOTS in not too long.

apparently the difference in pvp from someone without any good gear and someone with current maxed gear is like 8-10% dps

Thats for a full patch difference

You shouldn't be, I have no plans to go back to raiding so I probably just wasted $55 for a just a couple hours of "entertainment"

probably not.. they are gonna give you a level 100 toon with decent gear and you can get into the swing of things if you are reasonably decent at these type of games.

you might be a bit poor for awhile, but that happens.

This is only the difference from gear on the stat template. 10 ilvl = 1% difference.

Great system to keep everyone within a small margin competitively.

BUT

The Artifact is in full effect in PvP. The buffs and abilities from Artifact are really powerful. Someone with a fully loaded Artifact is probably going to be doing ~30% or so more DPS than the guy without, on top of having some buffed abilities. (Like a resto druid casting tranquility while running around a pillar).

So combine Artifact + Stat Template + Honor Talents and you have a system where the fresh 110's are going to be at as big, or perhaps even bigger disadvantage than they ever were before by the gear system.

Makes sense.

I'm guessing you just need to grind the main quest not actually do mythic raiding for that artifact though?

Yeah. Most AP comes from grinding dailies.

Not going back to raiding is what is keeping me from even thinking about Legion, for that exact same reason, lol.

I pretty much have this same thought process go through my head every time I've thought about getting Legion:

- Oh wow, lot of old guildies are coming back for Legion, this could be fun!
- Lets see... Raids 3 days a week x3-4 hours... that sounds ok...
- Wait, raiding until midnight when I have to be up by 6am...
- Wait, all the extra grinding that I have to do to be raid ready...
- Wait, all of the stuff that I do with my free time since quitting, I can't do anymore...
- Nah, **** raiding. Maybe get Legion still...? Nah, I'd be bored in 5 mins, moving on.
