We've only gotten in like 4 attempts on him ever. We might try again tomorrow since we extended the lockout from last time we got to him. We spent about an hour and a half last night wiping on Heroic Hanz and Franz and then just called it because the raid leader was getting pissed off.

For whatever reason, they're just doing 6 month temp-bans. Not sure of the logic behind that.

Also, the login servers took a dump right around the same time. Related? Bots auto-logging on to banned accounts over and over?

Will Q2 see a 3 million sub loss due to bot bans?

I routinely automate profession related tasks using Autohotkey scripts that I wrote myself. I have for many years.

About 6 months ago, I attempted (unsuccessfully) to create a fishing bot in AHK as well, but couldn't quite get it to work. I've never really fished in WoW, and it was just something I tried to do out of boredom at the end of MoP.

I think this is fantastic. The more bans, the better. I need all the help I can get to get into Gladiator range. =)

Temp ban numbers appear to be in the hundreds of thousands, so WoW is officially under 7 million subs now.

Turns out they may have added detection mechanisms in the 32-bit client only, which the bot manufacturer stubbornly refused to upgrade from.

I always thought Grimrail Depot was kind of a ****ty dungon but then I tried healing it. Holy **** the line of sight issues in there, the horrible camera angles, and the boss where people still don't know where to stand or what to do against that cannon. I've queued in to it twice in 2 days and maybe it's just me being new to healing, or maybe it's a small sample size of two groups of people that just stand in fire, but I'm all over the hate train for Grimrail now.

just healed a normal, uh, nature place, wtfever it's called. That was ridiculous. Everyone thought the giant smash gives a buff or something. Tank ate every one of them until he died. Not a single person but me stepped on flowers during genesis. No one but me was dpsing trapped mages. Turrible, just turrible.

God, this game is nearly unplayable in random groups.

Yes, you CAN find decent groups to run content with, but they are far more likely to be the groups that require an absurd ilevel, and you'll have to wade through 15 **** groups to find the diamond in the rough.

Not a good way to maximize your entertainment/progression value per hour invested.

I'm assuming my guild got hit to some extent with the botting ban. Both raids this week were canceled due to attendance.

My attempt to switch mains is turning out to be a non-starter because gearing an alt from scratch (or full PvP gear in this case) is largely impossible if you're not willing to sit through the utterly terrible PUG raids I described above.

I logged on all my guys today to clean out the mailboxes and put everything into storage. Never a good sign.

I highly doubt the milling "bots" were using HonorBuddy.

I've botted milling/production for years. Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of herbs. All done with a simple Autohotkey script. The goblin community uses similar AHK scripts.

Milling 20 at a time simply turns a 4 hour session into a 1 hour session.

When I had more than one WoW going, I'd use the first line, otherwise I could just use the second.

I can use the same macro for crafting glyphs (or anything else, I suppose) if you use TSM. I just bind the '-' key to my TSMcraftnext macro in game.

Ive failed 99% success rates multiple times.

I've sort of main switched to Paladin for the rest of this tier because we regularly are missing either a tank or a healer, so I figured this was a good opportunity to fill one of those roles in a setting that isn't just a 5-man where you OP everything in to oblivion. I've been focusing more on healing for the last few weeks, getting my addons set up right, refining the gear set and familiarizing myself with my keybindings and cooldowns.

Last night we were down a tank so they had me do that. We are working on heroics after clearing to Blackhand and deciding that we're better off getting the easier 685's than going for 670's from Blackhand. We didn't have any problems with Beastlord or Gruul, but we ran in to some issues with Hanz and Franz. The suplex was wrecking either me or the other tank or both. So we set up some external cooldown rotations but something would happen where the other tank was dead and I'd bubble the suplex and get some Hunter killed, or I would think I was good for a suplex and get oneshot.

After 4 or 5 attempts we got them down and moved on to Flamebender. I'm figuring out how to position the dog and we have a couple of wipes. It's getting toward the end of raid night and we call this our last attempt. Things go a little sideways and the other tank goes down after we've used our battle rez. I start frantically mashing buttons. I've got a lot of my abilities across my characters keybound to roughly the same keys. Interrupts are 12 on the Naga, short-cooldown mitigations like Ice Barrier or Divine Protection are on 11, etc. So while I'm mashing these buttons I see an ability go on cooldown that I haven't paid any attention to all night. It's Guardian of Ancient Kings! I spent the entire night subbing in as a tank for our raid without ever hitting Guardian. The only time it got popped was about 30 seconds before the raid night ended. I thought to myself, "Guardian would have been way better than trying to line up Shield of the Righteous and Divine Protection for Suplex when I'm getting hit by our main tank who has 70k more health than I do." Guardian is even in the same spot that Avenging Wrath is on my Holy spec. Slight L2P issue, there.

My Paladin is still working on his runes from BRF so I feel for you on the missions. He failed a 96% mission last week for 18 runes. Go ahead and fail the gold missions but why fail the important ones!?
