Got my warrior to 90 . Any point to get him geared up?

for funsies? to make leveling easier in WoD? to make getting BoAs for your next toon easier?

Ok the whirldwind stuff is getting on my nerves. Feels like they gave monks/panda whoever that whirlwind ability so they decided to give half of the elite mobs and bosses in the game the same mechanic to show it off. It's super frustrating as a fury warrior because I have no real defense against this stuff (to my knowledge) other than to run away. Thus I always get dusted by ranged DPS in PVE fights, and I have a hell of a hard time fighting mobs at timeless isle. Recently i discovered I can heroic leap away instead of running away, but the cooldown is too long for it to be a reasonable alternative even though i'm glyphed for it.

Overall I'm pretty disappointed with how warriors are now vs where they were 4 years ago (maybe I just suck though and I need to get better at my class again). Thinking about using the lvl 90 boost and rolling a resto druid for WoD..

warriors crush siege of orgrimmar pretty hard (well, with high crit, but im just saying mechanically its not bad either)

what boss has "whirlwind"? most of the aoes are all conic

i'm just talking about the spells where the mob just channels an ability where it spins around in circles so if your nearby it you get rekt

example "Shell Spin" ability from the turtles on timeless isle

Run away from whirlwind, charge back in, ez game. If you need, spec devastate or whatever that aoe stun is. Still, whatever your ilvl, you probably need better gear to take down those mobs before they whirlwind too many times. There's tons of mobs on the island, just avoid that little town chock full of panda ghosts and you should be fine.

Pet classes suck for elites with that whirlwind thing though. Nearly impossible to get your pet out in time so they almost always die.

stormbolt also stuns almost every non boss units in the game.

Damn you are geared to the teeth. Is there any word on whether or not blizzard will end the free boost thing before the expansion comes out? I'm on the fence about whether to fully dive back in, but the boost is definitely appealing me as I can get a free lvl 90 druid and have a guy who can heal if I wanna heal in next expansion.

the free boost from WoD is going to be for anyone who buys WoD ever afaik. They certainly won't end that offer any time soon while WoD is live, i would bet

You can also buy the boost for $60 if you want more then 1. After levelling 6-7 max toons and having so many others "stuck" in the levelling process due to boredom, it's a pretty welcome paid-service.

does this mean that when the game releases the first people to use the boost for a dranei will get the world first acheivement? haha

no, those achs are gone anyway

and typically people who used some sort of paid service had a month cooldown attached that prevented them from getting such achievements. like if you're the 2nd orc to 90, you couldn't pay to transfer to blood elf to be the first 90 belf

I am assuming the boosts will stay to 90, not 100, requiring people to still level through WoD to get max level.
