I haven't played WoW in ~8 months now, but I was thinking about picking the game up again. The last couple times I have played I have been mostly focused on pvp because I didn't like the direction in pve was heading, in particular the difficulty getting into pve content with a new max level toon. Has this changed at all from the early part of Cata? How is pvp in Mists?

Should I pick the game back up? No matter what the answer is I won't be able to start playing again until this semester is over, so there is plenty of time to make the decision, but I was just hoping I could get a serious opinion from people currently playing before I make my decision.

It's still WoW. If you quit because you didn't like the game or were bored, you'll probably still not like it or will get bored quickly. If you liked it back then but just needed some new content, then you'll probably like it now, at least while the content lasts.

PvP is starting out a bit rough but there are patches on the way. Very bursty damage and healing. It's not like Cata where you could really feel the deep HP pools. People die a lot faster to burst, and healers can top people back up in 2-3 casts.

I wouldn't personally call the pvp bad at the moment although it's very different then it was in Cata and it does need some tweaking. Lots of other people are however calling it the worst season ever... so...

I think it's a really drastic change from Cata so it's messed up a lot of people's idea of what pvp should be like.

Hopefully the change is a response to the stalemate-esque 2s heal/dps combo. So frustratin I just give up cuz neither side is losing ground

I'm having fun running a double hybrid comp in 2's. The matches are faster as it's double dps, but being double hybrid (spriest / ret) we also have some staying power and there is a chance to co-ordinate and make a mistake or two and come back from it.

Yeah I quit playing healer/dps 2's for that reason. 45 minute matches to a draw. No thanks.

Yeah, the glyphs for some classes must really help out in those situations, dark binding and that one that lets druids cast heals in boomkin form, et al

I just recently quit because 2s is so broke I quit before when they stopped giving glad in 2's, started again late cata to play some arena for lols and it's just not fun anymore. (I am 2s hero ;/

edit: havnt done any pve since tbc so cant comment on that, done some LFR boring as **** if that means anything ;p also.. if u dont like questing in wow then forget it. done more quests in MoP then I have my whole time playing wow lol

What did you play in 2's?

Played a **** load of rogue/druid in TBC for some easy glads, played warr/druid start of S4 and kept r1 for like 5 months. Also got like 2.4k as rogue/mage in tbc too.

Didn't really play wotlk played a lot of rogue/priest 2s in cata and a lot of warr/druid and hunter/druid in MoP ^^

Max match length set to 25 minutes is still pretty lol for 2's. Max length for 2's should be 10 minutes. If you can't kill someone with 2-3 sets of cool downs just move on. I think Hain and I went something like 22 minutes in a 2's match once and I'm not sure I really grew as a person.

Hmm actually I was pretty pissed off when I noticed they changed it to 25 minutes. A very good healer/dps vs another very good healer/dps will usually take more than 25 minutes. I'd like to see a healer/dps comp that can take me and my 2s partner down within 10 minutes. ^^ Although... We did play a game in Cata as hunter/druid and played vs holy pala/something else can't remember, but anyway we got the other dude down and the pala was just running around like a *** lossing me (as hunter, before there was no min range) until it went to a draw lol, that was pretty annoying.

Think my longest game was warr/druid mirror in TBC which we lost just after 2 hours.

My subscription ran out for WoW a few days ago, don't think I'll be renewing it anytime soon. Can someone let me know when warriors have been nerfed (for real) and when disc priest/rogue is viable again, thanks!

Most servers are now lucky if they have 1 25 man guild now.

The current tier is excellent as far as encounter design, environment, and quantity of bosses.

Despite what most of the community feedback says, I think LFR is a lot of fun. Were it not for LFR I probably wouldn't like the current tier, or more likely would be bitter that it looks awesome but I'd never get a chance to see it. Some of the people you encounter in LFR do their best to make the game less fun for others, but try to ignore them.

As someone who picked it up over Christmas again it seems hard not to recommend playing. It seems far better than Cata although i only played that one briefly.

How does LFR work? Don't you get locked into raid instance for a full week? What if your random group is terrible? Just tough luck for that week?

LFR is a separate lockout. You can run it as often as you want but you only get a chance at loot once per week per boss. 95% of the time you just get gold though. Each person gets their own chance at loot so it's not like anything in LFR can be ninja'd.

Normal and Heroic mode share a separate lockout, and you can only do either 10 or 25 man, not both.

There used to be an issue in LFR where you would join a half-finished raid, then keep getting half-finished raids and thus never have the chance to get loot. They made it so if you get some bosses killed that aren't the first boss, the next time you queue it will prioritize a fresh raid.

I stopped a year after they made raids 25 mans from 40 mans; it just wasn`t the same as an epic 40 man raid and pvp wasn`t really that crazy back then.

40 manraids were hillarious but sooo time consuming because getting 40 people to do anything is just hard.

My pet killed my 40 man raid once, forgot to put him on passive or something lol, no one got mad.

My best WoW times were playing 39 level twink arena 10 mans. We went undefeated for close to 2 years challenging all comers from NA servers and from abroad (during server updates or whatever)
