that mini map looks sweet, is that a sexymap skin or port?

It's a default part of elvUI.

ElvUI is pretty simple, you copy the addon to your interface/addon directory just like anything else, and the first time you use it prompts you to go through basic setup process to get the standard functions working, then you can toy around with it further from there.

I've disabled the ElvUI actionbars so I can set them up how I want them for the g13 and naga, but otherwise I haven't toyed with it much.

I have it, it's great for healing imo but my thumb cramps up way too much if I try to use it for dpsing since that usually entails spamming just a couple buttons, whereas at least with druid healing I'm hitting at least 7 different buttons for every fight.

I'm kind of excited for it for tanking on my DK. There are no fewer than 10 buttons that he'll need at any given time.

Should have a little easier time with it this go around, provided all my keybinds are working Yesterday I decided he's not going to split his time so much. He'll be spending all his points for the mean time on tank gear. He went from 346 dps legs to T11 tank legs, and from the 359 dps relic to 378 tnaking relic. I was offering 3-5k in trade last night for Valor bracers but got no bites.

I can definitely see it being more useful for tanking than dpsing (though probably not quite as much as healing, just because of the nature of healing and how most people do it aka Clique or mouseover macros), and also PVP. I still sort of use it when I dps, but I try to keep my spammed buttons on the keyboard, and the buttons I occasionally hit but need immediate access to on the mouse.

I would die with out my g9x mouse ( I liked over the raz and lol at the cheap pos steel series mice things a plastic joke)

Mice buttons are good for **** like interupts ,taunt, CD's and a vent button.(I also wheel strafe) I also use my thumb buttons as back peddle and to move forward ( which ppl find really strange)

Couldn't be happier with the Naga after playing this weekend. For my Mage it's not a huge improvement to speak of, but I spent most of Sunday/Monday gearing up my DK through tanking, and holy crap is it nice to have 12 abilities handy right away, and 12 more available with just a shift modifier. I successfully tanked for a Nefarian kill last night. I was on Ony for Phase 1 and adds for Phase 3. Definitely took a lot of damage in P3, but once I got a good rotation figured out and a path set for the adds/fire, we got the kill!

Definitely wouldn't want to go back to my old mouse, even with the three buttons on the side. Tanks just have too many abilities that they need at any given time.

G9 was what I used before this, and it's definitely the best mouse I've ever used. The Naga just makes my life so much easier when healing though, since I don't have to worry about constantly holding down shift/alt/ctrl for half my heals, I can instead just hit the button.

For non-MMO gaming and everyday use, G9 is definitely what I would go with, but the Naga is just too good for MMOs imo.

Unfortunately I don't have a great place to put those bars, so they're kind of overlapping my floating combat text. I may have to reposition my unitframes or something, I'm considering making the icons smaller since they don't really need to be clicked, I just need to have a quick reference as to which button is which.

Magemanabar is an awesome addon. As before, right hand bars and bag/Bliz bars disappear in combat.

You did this from scratch?

How do you get the bags to disappear?

Yeah, all from scratch.

There's a setting for each bar in bartender, I think it's a "Visibility" tab or something. You can hide certain bars in combat.

Here's what it looks like now.

Right bars and bags still disappear during combat.

So bartender can do all that razzmataz with bags and spells and such, but like the minimap? the chat window? the focus/target frame?

I never use omen or have recount open while a fight is going, and as dps I see no need to have raid frames up

Figure bartender and sliceadmiral or whatever addon here:

should just about cover what I need

Chat window is probably Prat (btw you can move the chat window down a little bit so it's right down in the corner if you want, it would kind of bother me to have it not really lined up with everything else at the bottom but it might not bother you I don't know).

Target frame is Xperl.

There are some uses for keeping raid frames up as dps, such as if you need to b-res someone, or slow fall, etc. I would think that would be easier to do with just a mouseover macro and raid frames.

Alls I do is tricks my focus target via macro. Fairly straight-forward life imo

I finally found a way to remove the clutter of my bars, by macroing all my unnecessary stuff, like mounts/pick lock/etc, to my attacks, only my attacks show up in combat, and ooc I see the other stuff.

Ex:

Quote:
#showtooltip
/cast [combat]Rupture;Pick Lock
Quote:
#showtooltip
/cast [combat]vanish;stealth

Yeah I guess a rogue wouldn't have much use for the raid frames. I don't think i would ever get rid of them though, just because I'm used to having them, and sometimes it's nice to see if lots of people are dead or something like that.

Yeah I will remember where the MT etc. is on my Grid. If I look and see the tanks dead I know things are going downhill. I have click-sets on grid as well. Right click is Remove Curse, Middle Click is Focus Magic, and Shift + Right Click is Slow Fall.

The minimap is Sexy map. All my other map buttons show up on mouse-over.

Xperl took a long time to get set up right, but I'm pretty happy with it overall. Not a game changer but it's cool.

I use Chatter for my chat window, great addon. WIM for whispers, can't imagine not having WIM.

Can you turn your resolution up, or do you need it to be lower to run smooth? You'll get a lot more screen space to work with if you can increase it.

Well it's at 1280 x 720 windowed widescreen. The pic may have shrunk due to photobucket shenanigans.

I'm windowed-mode for life.

I would really like xperl to not display raid frames, or WoW for that matter. Any idea how to do this?

Really liking the setup now. Got a lot of extraneous stuff disappearing for combat. Makes me happy.

Alright, this is a bit much:

Makes it kinda hard to keep track of what's going on. I don't feel like I can really tell what my target's hp is like at a quick glance, and i definitely have no idea when they're casting unless I enable .. uhh.. hit the V key to show bars above the mobs or whatever it's called.

That's why I suggested turning your resolution up, it'll give you more screen space so things won't be so clumped up. If you can turn it up without your fps going to ****, definitely do that and try reorganizing everything.

I'm confused on what's going on right there, you have the boss targeted, and it looks like the tank focused. But then there's 2 extra unit frames, one for the boss and one for the tank..? Where are those coming from? Target of target or something?
Post a screenshot of your UI / link your add-ons! Quote

Yeah, Target of target is to the right, focus's target is above me. Disabled a lot of the debuff display and that's helped out a lot. Still feel kinda lost as to what's going on overall, but it makes me focus on what I'm doing more, which made my dps jump up.
