Well, at least I was able to effectively triple the price of that sword. I am hoping that if I can convince the market that they're worth 25k right now that they'll shoot to 50 when 4.3 comes out instead of going from 7k to 20k.

I saw a couple on the ah on my server for like 30k. If they sell for that I may buy one and sell it for some capital injection.

There are about 30 of those cubs on my server for ~5000g. I predict they will all be under 2000g soon unless there is a big market for them.

I don't think people will want to 'buy gold' from blizzard for much more than double what it is on the black market, but I could be wrong.

If it goes under 2.5k I'll eat my hat.

If they do hit 2k, BUY THEM! Thats $5/1000g which is crazy high. They will eventually have to go up because there really shouldn't be any new ones coming into the market.

For those of you on Illidan, how much were Inferno Rubies going for when patch 4.2 came out?

They were going for over 100g on Alterac Mountains. The 60ish gold per Ruby just seems really low.

I still think a WoW stock market would be a cool idea.

People buy shares of an AH master and make a dedicated gold-income from it.

Or a player offers a certain rate of return on investments over an amount of time.

Tracking could be accomplished by an addon/website combo that notes gold in from mail/AH and out to investors.

It's so easy to amass a large amount of gold right now with minimal effort that I don't think there would be any incentive for the AH master to actually do that.

To be totally honest, you can be an "AH master" with less than $15k gold.

I played for ~4 months, starting a couple months after Cataclysm released. I had given all my gold away when I "quit" 2 weeks after Cata release, so I had to start back up with a 15k loan and my leftover glyphs.

In 4 months that 15k initial investment became 400k liquid gold + another 400-500k worth of inventory. In between there, I spent ~230k on items, bought super epic flying for a few guys, and handed out ~100k to friends just because.

You do not need a lot of money to make a fortune in WoW. You need professions and TradeskillMaster/Postal.

And TUJ. Sweet JESUS did I abuse the piss out of TUJ.

I spent ~5 hours a week on making money.


Edit: 5 hours is kind of deceiving. I used some AutoHotkey scripts that I wrote to do a lot of afk crafting. Once a month or so, I would spend ~14 hours on a weekend using the scripts to prospect/mill and to make glyphs.

I sold a 359 healer offhand for 5.5k yesterday. I see a guy spamming trade tonight trying to sell a 378 polearm for 10k, with no one biting.

I feel like the patch should make 378 stuff pretty worthless, but maybe people won't be raiding FL so it'll still have some rarity to it?

359 stuff should completely crash and only be worth a max of 2k per item, but 378 will still have some utility for a while, so it shouldn't drop too much, unless there's another trinket pinata coming soon.

Also, I think Firelands gear looks pretty cool overall, so once we are a little ways away from that content I think people will go back and raid it just for transmog.

Heavenly Shards are currently going for more than Maelstrom Crystals on my server. If you have an enchanter, I suggest you check your AH.
