Re: August of wind clearing the Mists and revealing Pandaria - LC Thread
Yeah he has a mixture of lots of classes. I can't even begin to imagine how he has this setup, he must just create /castsequence macro's for each class and pigeon hole everything into a rotation. Then just mash his "DPS" button.
Does this guy actually win anything? I would imagine in AV he's going to lose every tower up to his choke point and then have 150 points he needs to overcome.
I guess if the opposing team is stupid enough to feed him kills rather then grouping up and going in as a group he could overcome that and turtle it out.

Even if they go in as a group, they're still not gonna overcome the burst of 40 characters hitting the same person at the same time. Plus he probably death grips the first person he sees come around the corner in the boss room, so he gets help from the boss too.
I imagine about the only way to beat him is to use aoe CC, but even then you'll probably only take out maybe a couple of his guys before he wrecks you. The burst is just insane, and no matter what you're doing, once he gets an attack off on someone, it's pretty much a guaranteed kill.
Regardless, people are always stupid enough to just go up to him a few at a time feeding him kills and very slowly bringing the reinforcements down.

My new goal after TB dailies on Smigel is to get my Paladin to 85 and start healing battlegrounds. Paladins can be impossible to kill and I want to see what that's like.

Taking a vacation has really slowed down my lock.
If you're 80, you should do herald! Its a great fight! If you're alliance you could group with nofear perhaps.

I just dinged 81 with her tonight. Wasn't sure I could find a group to do Herald with. I just want to get to 85 so I can see what max level play feels like in Cataclysm. Won't have that opportunity much longer.

Re: August of wind clearing the Mists and revealing Pandaria - LC Thread
Is it weird that I'm getting kind of excited to see how far I can skyrocket my ilvl between hitting 85 and Pandaland coming out?
With 390 Honor Gear, 397 purchasable items, etc., I am guessing (if I transfer her to Illidan) that she's going to jump about 30 levels as soon as she hits 85.
The other option is to keep her Alliance, save the $50, and get both the Alliance/Horde leveling experience in Mists.

Re: August of wind clearing the Mists and revealing Pandaria - LC Thread
Aside from access to profs, is there much else reason to move your pally horde?
Decided it would be easier to level my last 3 classes as horde. already had a warrior bank alt, had to delete 2 (along with a few thousand gold worth of bags) and remake them as lock/priest. I'm sure the xp bonus from full BoAs will make up for it.

Re: August of wind clearing the Mists and revealing Pandaria - LC Thread
My Paladin is 83 now so the BoA's aren't of too much use. Unless you still get the 10% xp bonus after 80 and I should equip them for that even they have much lower stat value otherwise. I guess I can see benefits of both. 20% xp is hard to pass up, especially since you usually feel OP in leveling anyway.
I haven't leveled her profs. They're still sitting in the 1-200's. Alchemy and Blacksmithing, neither of which I have a huge desire to powerlevel. Once again, these might happen if I switch to Horde. My Alliance toons have 3k between them, and that's mostly what I've made while questing the Paladin through Cata.
Mostly I would switch her to Horde so she could immediately grab the 397 Bracers and Boots (for some reason the 365 Healer Mace is like 5k). Also it would be fun to run BG's and maybe Arena with you guys. That would be a huge boost towards getting in to the HoT heroics without having to grind for 346's endlessly. Not to mention LFR.
Otherwise she will just gear up naturally through JP, Honor, and the limited Valor you can get. She probably won't hit 85 tonight so that's 3 more weeks of capping until she even gets a Valor relic.
Healing random Battlegrounds and random dungeons has somewhat appeased my desire to finally "have" a healer.
But my final thought is this: I hope someday Blizzard figures out a way to remove the barrier of Faction and Servers. I hate that I have to pay more money just to get a character where I want to play with the people I want to play with. I don't care if Trolls and Humans are killing stuff together. I'd rather play with my friends than RP factions. Either that or let me use Smigel's gold to buy stuff for my Paladin.

Re: August of wind clearing the Mists and revealing Pandaria - LC Thread
Account-wide gold, or even server-wide, isn't a bad idea. Neither is account-wide purchases. Like, you buy a BoA on one toon, it unlocks access to the item for all of them. They already sort of do that with some mounts/pets, wouldn't be hard to implement.
Oh, and cloak/helm are 15% bonus xp together. If nothing else, you could buy some of those books scribes make and hope to get the temporary quest xp bonus.
Either way, you've still got a little ways to go.

Re: August of wind clearing the Mists and revealing Pandaria - LC Thread
LFD-ing all the way to 85 seems like a dismal proposition. They usually go faster as a Tank just because you get to control the speed of the pulls, and you're usually #1 or #2 on the damage meter. As long as your healer is competent you can bulldoze most encounters. Solo queuing as a healer on the other hand can either be great, like the time I ran through 3 with an awesome tank and a guy with Dragonwrath, or horrible when the DPS is afking and the tank doesn't know how to mitigate damage.
My plan is waning, originally I was going to power through all of the Deepholm quests even if it takes me in to 84, simply because that is the best way to get Therazane rep. The problem is that Therazane rep is only going to be useful for approximately 41 more days. So are 397's but oh well. Also involved in that decision is the annoying process of opening the Twilight Highlands portal. Really enjoyed doing that quest line twice for each character I faction transferred.
On a side note, Smigel might have his Drake of the West Wind if Horde could manage to win Tol Barad on Illidan once in a while.

LFD to 85 is the slowest possible way to hit 85, aside from maybe archaeology or herbing.

Re: August of wind clearing the Mists and revealing Pandaria - LC Thread
I'm getting pretty excited for Mists. I'm actually looking forward to leveling in the new zones. I really want that sense of awe I had with Northrend back. Cata had some cool zones and quests, but imo the whole continent feel with new cities and contiguous zones is what really makes an expansion have it's own flavor.
