Max level is where most of the game takes place. Most of what you do before you hit max level, especially if you've done it before, is just a grind in order to get to max level.

For example, it might take 100 hours of play time to hit max level, but you can put in months of time once you get there. It's the initial 100 hours that just isn't very fun. I have 3 85's. I would like to have more but leveling them past 20 just becomes painful when you're doing the same thing over and over.
We view games very differently then. Max level was when I got sick of WOW. When all that was left was repeatedly grinding the various instances on a set schedule week out and week in with my guild to try to get set-pieces it was about as boring as any game experience I've ever had. Running around with a group of friends, experiencing new instances and having fun there was great - once I maxed my level and had experienced all there was, it got boring really fast.

Leveling is by far the worst part of WoW for me.

Leveling was fun back in vanilla the first time I did it.. Up to 40. After that it's just been awful.

There's a reason they only add new dungeons for max level with new patches.

I'm pretty sure Blizzard would get a lot of complaints if they put in the development time to make a dungeon that was only relevant from level 40-45. i.e. about 7 hours of gameplay nowadays.

This sounds too awesome to be true. With all the dumbing down of the game that's been done over the years, the only thing that feels really super grindy to me anymore has always been super grindy: Fishing. I have yet to max it out on any toon even though I've had an account since launch, it's just so boring and frustrating. What changed about it tho?

They made it so you no longer had to be X level to fish out of pools.

Later, they added pools of fish for caster food, which was a nice addition, but really, not needing to grind fishing to be able to provide food for almost all your toons was a great change in and of itself.

I agree that it's easier to fish than it's ever been. It's still a grind to level fishing, though, or it was the last time I tried it. I considered going after the Salty achievement but I didn't want to have to quit my job.

What's the usable catch vs garbage rate now? And do you know a good fishing cheat?

Rate still varies based off your skill, excluding fishing in pools, if I'm understanding the question. That hasn't changed (though there are obviously no more Your Fish Got Away non-catches anymore).

Don't know of any fishing cheats, tbh, dunno if I ever did.

First, I should say I'm glad the people I know on WoW are smart enough to never use the word "bot" in a conversations with me in game.

I was just trying to redo a bot profile for the disgusting oozeling, but then I screwed up the path and had like 40 waypoints to redo, so I said **** it and gave up. Pickpocketed the nearest 2 mobs, 1 had an oozing bag, and it, of course, had the pet.

Not sure if you deal with this sorta stuff..

My friend told me my character with merciless gladiator title might be worth some decent $$. Any idea if this is true?

Unobtainable mounts and titles always add worth to any account.

Right now, though, I'm not sure what accounts are worth. They were on a decline when I got outta that particular game. You might be able to get a couple hundred for it though, depending on other things it has.

any advice as to where i can go about selling it?

it probably doesn't have much else. i only played from vanilla - s2, but i also got field marshall rank in vanilla and whatever title and mount first place in season 1 was. i assume neither of those add much value.

appreciate the help

I think mmobay.net changed hands, but I don't remember who's running it now.

You could always try Craigslist, but you likely won't find someone wanting to buy vanity.

Send me a pm in a couple days, maybe the weekend, if you don't find a place you feel comfortable selling on. I'll try to figure out where mmobay went.

Hey Low Key, what would be the best way to go about selling gold for real money? Thought you be the best person to ask.

Depends on what you want or how safe you want to be.

If you're trying to sell to buy wow related merch, I can't give much advice other than Go second and Make sure te person has done many purchases and is highly reputable. No bigger scams exist than selling transfers or keys or tcg mounts and then losing it all the second you pay any or all of the gold.

If you're after cash money instead of WoW goods, read up on PayPal's virtual goods policy. They supposedly changed it a while back and do offer seller protection.

Of course, no safer method exists than selling to someone you know or selling face to face in a coffee house or something.

As far as the actual trade goes, face to face and mail are risky these days. By far the best method, imo, is the guild transfer method. Have your buyer make an alt to join your guild, promote him to X rank, get the cash, give him access to withdraw X gold, once he's done you can remove access, he leaves, whatever. This is what most of the gold brokers have their sellers do these days, or at least it was the last time I bought gold oh so many months ago.

I believe Blizzard was forced to tone Warden down quite a bit due to the uproar about privacy a few years ago. They can still detect a good amount of bots, but can't scan your whole computer (this is why AHK is so good).

I played Dark Age of Camelot before WoW and I can confirm that at least that MMO was the same (DAOC was very heavily PVP/RVR focused tho)
