Are we ever going to see lock software updated? Are we ever going to see lock software updated?

01-31-2013 , 10:59 PM
I just started playing again on lock after getting an itch to play. But I see the software is the same as its ever been. I believe before the move was made there was talk about there being a major software upgrade. I am wondering if this will ever happen and if so when?

nope

In 3 years give or take.

Is there any reason for this? I know little about coding and what it would take but I can't imagine a poker site unable to update their software.

lol True Poker/ACR (WPN network) have been 'updating' their platform for the last 4 years and recently came out and said it will be coming out in the next 4 months which in human terms is ~12 months/never

The software isn't bad imo. The problem is the stability. That is the real thing Lock should be working on.

We are definitely working on the software.

And for dfsuperstar we are also working on the stability.

They just internally agreed that a software update is what players want. It has been finally put on a queue right behind the signing of two lock pros.

not that is belongs here, but if you are going to post can you please have some idea what you are talking about, I mean, even close....

WPN network has only been in existence slightly more than 1 year (and 1/4). Completely new owners took over from Doyles Room and they have been trying to revive that crapola place since.

It is like saying Lock has not fixed this place in 4 years...Since they just bought the network obviously could not do anything to change Revolution/Cake when they were at Merge

Winning has updated their software at least a few times.

I see new features added (rematch button) and refined.

It's not as good as Merge's software overall, but it seems pretty stable to me.

Maybe you should too sir, there is no "new ownership" just a re-brand.

Edit- Maybe i should expand, the same people who own True poker and owned the Yahatay network bought Doyles then changed the names to WPN/ACR.

exactly, dont try and create an argument when you have no clue what youre talknig about, yatahay has been around for a long time. And it is the same owners who have been promising the same things. Please dont post again WEC.

Well, we better all get our facts straight on this. The owner of True Poker is TPCR Development SRL (TrueCashier Ltd, Ireland) and did not buy Americas Card Room. BetCris bought Americas Card Room from Doyles. True and ACR also run on different affiliate programs and do not share ownership.

The big money being spent on the Network since BetCris bought ACR has been from the big financially stable Sportsbook, is my understanding. If you notice, True Poker has taken a backseat in name marketing since BetCris came in, and now Black Chip Poker. The newer people are obviously running the show and spending money, not the people from True Poker.

Please tell me your facts if they are different from this...

(Note: True Poker itself had an ownership change to the current owners a few years ago now)

I believe this post there is no way this site is going to last much longer.

Having payout problems is one thing (that's really severe already). Having these issues ontop of it, and yeah this can't bode well. People aren't going to keep putting up with this crap.. :/

I wouldn't know about software updates since I can't even download a mac version, sigh.

So I tried looking up some facts to this and couldn't find anything showing they are owned by the same people except the indictment letter, which was also unclear if Cris owned them. I then asked someone who knows more about the industry than anyone else I know of. FWIW this was his reply-

The two have their own independent history. True (online since 2000) and CRIS (online since 2001, and phone in book since 1994) had nothing to do with each other until around mid-2007 when CRIS became a client. At some point (2009 I think) CRIS bailed them out and became essentially a silent partner. In June 2011 they became backed by CRIS/Bookmaker. They're two different companies but I believe now the ownership is the same. Highest level management was the only change after June 2011, True continued to operate the same and the most noticeable change, was under the new ownership they developed better software.
