VALIDATE LOCK BUG: folding hands automatically

First of all I have nothing to gain by posting this, as the bug only cost me a few dollars that im aware of.

While 2 tabling and surfing the internet (one table LO8 and one table 3-6 stud hi-lo), I was kind of in a distracted mood, not focusing 100%.

On the stud 8 table, I picked up a playable. hand: A73...Somehow it folded it..My first reaction, was "Damn, I clicked wrong button..must have clicked FOLD TO ANY BET button" which pops up after the player brings it in.

Well I didnt learn my lesson, as a few playable hands later, it happens again, and im still not 100% sure what i did...after this time im on high alert...I get another hand, and with mouse in hand, i watch the bring-in bring it in...I look down at my FOLD TO ANY BET box..its unchecked...Sure enough: it folded right in turn..no delay, no buttons popped up.

I realize I didnt need to wait for playable hands to look down and test it..but with a .50cent ante, I wasnt too concerned, and my other table kind of over lapped it, and my mind was basically on autopilot.

Of course it cost me some in EV..no big deal.

I left, and sat back in and everything returned to normal...

I just joined LOCK this week..prior to that I was playing on another merge skin, where ive played 10s of thousands of hands with never a glitch like this.
I took a screen shot a few hands showing hand # after i sat back in..too lazy to email Lock with the problem mainly because customer support (on prior skin) hasnt been too helpful with other issues so im done with that... But be my guest someone. You prob. only have to go back 10-30 hands before this hand # to get an idea of when it happened.

Let me add, that i dont know what wouldve happened if I was the bring in..if it wouldve timed me out, or just blinded me away..

Let's wait for Shane to provide the exciting details conclusively proving this was not from Lock/Merge's end before jumping to any conclusions here.

I'm sure they will investigate and then will be happy to show you how they weren't able to find any issues from their end therefore it can't be their fault.

This isn't really helpful at all or even fair.

1) this is completely different from what you're referring to

2) You could at least wait until a resolution is posted before sarcastic remarks.

I'm really not a big fan of moderating/editing posts, but this user did come here for help with their issue and one of the primary reasons this forum is here is for support. Give us a chance to support the user and then if you're not satisfied with the resolution I completely understand any sort of responses that would come forth.

DeNutza Shane is looking into it but if there is anything I can do to help please let me know.

Thanks

-Rizen

microbob - i got boat loads of respect for you. I truly do. And you have every right to be angry at Lock for screwing you on the casino bonus. No argument there.

But bro, you like have posted in 5 different threads just absolutely bashing lock for everything and anything; issues that have nothing to do with the casino bonus. Issues that other users are trying to get sincere resolutions to.

I hope you get your casino money dude, i really do.

Re: VALIDATE LOCK BUG: folding hands automatically

Rizen, the previous situation the op had his hands folded multiple times for some unknown reason. He was away from his computer. This the player had his hands folded for some unknown reason. He was at his computer. Seems very potentially related. Certainly premature to declare they were unrelated since you still have no idea what caused the previous problem.

I think the observation on the strange conclusions drawn from the previous thread's software bug are not terribly unfair. And I'm sure other players in both threads agree.

Irrespective of that, I'm hopeful that this time you are able to take advantage of the additional data you have now that this very similar thing has happened again and maybe solve this deal and identify how it is happening once and for all.

Airborne, my criticisms here I believe are valid. If somebody came in with a thread in which they complained about lock support but I believed lock to have behaved great I would tell the poster just that. I am absolutely not seeking out opportunities to rip on lock. I very much continue to hope they get their act together. I was extremely pleased when Shane was brought to this forum because it was clear Rizen was having a tough time handling the whole thing. But some of his responses to valid arguments or points have been disappointing to say the least.

Re: VALIDATE LOCK BUG: folding hands automatically

^^^ fair enough - I understand what you're saying.

It's too bad that Merge has such a stranglehold on the US market right now...it gives their dev team little incentive to make sure their software is as good as it could/should be.

I think the incentive is plenty for them. They can positively thrive right now and have a massive opportunity to do so much if they get things straight and correct some of the customer service and software issues. They still have time to get this turned around and I am very much pulling for them to do so as it would be hugely beneficial to all of online poker.

Unfortunately, me pulling for them doesn't necessarily relate to confidence in their chances for success right now. But I will be happy to be persuaded otherwise and always attempt to keep an open mind.

Their opportunity to crush the market is enormous, almost hurts the soul to see short term fear encompassing long term success. One must continue to have faith that our elected reps will most certainly not look after any ones interests other than their own and leave enormous loop holes through which the poker community will flock towards as long as the nest is safe. Ya don't see Pstars squirming in light of "black friday" to any real degree

well, to be fair it could have been from the mouse hovering over the RECORD button that caused this
