from the lock rakeback players tos...

" Please be advised that if you are a rakeback player and wish to switch to the VIP program your VIP points must be zeroed out before we can make the change."

does this really happen?

I'm double checking, last I was told the answer was no, this does not happen.

Do you gets to keep the same status once u have attained it? or is it on a monthly basis?
07-05-2011 , 05:40 PM
I've double checked, no your VIP points do not get zeroed out before making the change. I'll ask them to update the TOS.

Once you attain a status it carries forward to the next month, but you have to keep hitting the appropriate amount of points each month to get it to carry forward. It works very similar to Stars system if you're familiar with that.

So let's say this month (July) you hit Silver. You would then be Silver for August as well, but if you don't hit the 5,000 VIP points needed to attain silver, you would be moved down in September to the appropriate level. Make sense?

Rakeback and the VIP program are separate. If you want to be switched over to the VIP program email support@lockpoker.com

Black VIP and Black Elite VIP are both better than the 35% rakeback options so it would be in your interest to switch.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Did you factor in that VIP players rake at 100% compared to the 65% of a RB player?

Also, I know Rizen is trying to confirm with Merge on the Casino Bonuses. Obviously there has been a lot of confusion from skin to skin on what exactly everyone is allowed and permitted to do.

rakeback is 35% + 6.5%=41.5% (you do have to buy into tournys with the points)

vip black is 20% + 20%= 40% (all cash, but you must play 10k points each month)

If something comes back to replace the casino bonus, i would switch to vip, but as of now I am really glad i didnt switch.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if I can further assist.

Well there is a difference between not getting zeroed and being able to redeem cash for them.

Sorry I misunderstood the question. It appears that would be manipulating the system but I am sure you will at least be able to use those points to register for tournaments still.

I will have Rizen confirm when he can,
07-10-2011 , 06:00 PM
please explain how redeeming points earned at 65% rate while on rakeback would be manipulating the system.

Excuse me, I never said that?

Rakeback players are not allowed to exchange points for cash. So, yes, accumulating points as a RB player and then switching to VIP in order to be able to exchange those for cash would be manipulating the system.

Of course I don't have the "official" answer to this but Rizen will clear it up shortly I am sure. I am pretty sure he already discussed this I will try and find out.

.
That is one way to look at it I guess....however, before vip was implemented many rakeback players earned alot of points that at the time could be converted into cash. Overnight the ability to convert these was taken away (without warning). I do hope to change to VIP at some point when Lock clarifies the benefits (ie casino bonus value)...and when I do switch to VIP, I would hope to be able to redeem all my points for cash. I really dont think i would be manipulating anything, but rather I would be working with the ever changing system Lock has presented.

Rakeback players that had points saved up were able to convert these to cash simply by emailing support, and rightfullly so.

However, after June 1st the situation is way different. Rakeback players and VIP players are completely different so I doubt Lock will allow players to manipulate that (points still could be used for tourney buy ins and such), but like I said above we will wait and see for official confirmation.

It would have been great to know that I could have simply converted my points with an email

so when i switch, in your scenario, i would have two stacks of vip points...one old stack, good for tournament buy ins, and a new stack that i could use for converting to cash. That not only seems silly, but I dont think merge/lock could handle the separation of the two stacks, lol

Okay well I don't want to lead to any more speculation let's just see what is said. Hopefully I will have a few hours soon to search on what exactly has been previously said about this. Thanks and sorry for the confusion.

I agree. This is the first time I'm hearing about this as well.

Lock is doing a lot of things better than the competition but they are still lacking in a few major areas; most significantly, communication.
07-11-2011 , 05:25 PM
VIP points are VIP points, you are free to save them until you reach the highest VIP level and then exchange them if you want. Any VIP points in your account can be exchanged at any time once you're on the VIP program with the daily limits of at least 100 pts and no more than 10,000 points can be exchanged within a day.

Hope this clears it up. Short version is you should be able to exchange existing points just fine.

I concur. Ebes and Rizen should go to couple's counseling and work out their confusion.

I understand rakeback players get 35% cashback but only 65% of points a VIP player would get. Say a black VIP player would get 20% cashback plus could use his points to buy another 20% for a total of 40%. Now the rakeback player gets 35% plus can use those points to buy stuff in the store (whenever that happens) or buy into tournaments. Is using points to buy stuff worth more than 5%?

I know people will say casino bonuses come with being a VIP...but that hasn't happened yet so who knows.
