Tech issue - Lock tables not updating in real time Tech issue - Lock tables not updating in real time

To kind of sum up my issue, I currently run a new MacBook Air and when playing multiple games I like to hook up an external monitor to make my screen play larger. I have an adapter that allows me to go from apples port to hdmi/dvi. When I connect this everything seems to work perfectly fine except for Locks tables. I can hear the tables (chips moving, my turn warning, etc.) but the tables will essentially freeze and not update. Once I drag this back to my laptop screen it works perfectly fine. I have tried YouTube, surfing the Internet, Skype, etc and all work on the other monitor. Does anyone have any suggestions? Am I missing something here? Any help is much appreciated!

Only thing I can think is that the CPU is having trouble keeping up with the multiple games played on the external monitor.

Hmm idk I've even tried just one table by itself running and nothing else. Something doesn't add up..

there is a lock update thread for all issues caused since the most recent client update.

However since you're on a mac I belive you're encountering one of many issues mac users have been having for months. The mac client isn't the best in the world.. well it's worse than the windows client (if that is even possible).

Lol does the Mac client look way different from the windows client? Because when I play on my windows laptop I haves completely different looking lock poker then in my Mac. Anyways, I agree it has to be something specific with lock to Mac compatibility because literally everything else works on the external monitor except Lock...

Can you hook up the monitor to a windows system and try the same? If it works under windows then I guess you nailed it down. Might be even worse to report your finding to them. I wouldn't expect a "speedy" udpate though.

Try making the screen only to be shown on the bigger monitor and not both.

i have a technical question also, and not sure of the right forum to put it in regarding lock poker. sure i could email the company, but i expect my reply to be ignored if i do that, so here goes. how do i keep the main lobby from constantly popping up to the forefront of my tables every few minutes? it is getting very annoying.

Not sure if this is the right thread either, but this is really really annoying to me as well. Also on Sundays there are popups advertising the the 100k/70k gtds every few minutes that bring the lobby to the front and don't go away until you push 'ok'. Its tough to not time out while playing more than a few tables because of this.

The above is a known issue that has been reported to "Revolution" many times since they are the ones "updating" the software, not Lock.

However, the popup you're seeing isn't even the correct one and isn't even meant to advertise tournaments since there is another system build in which would have a tournament registration link in the popup and which also doesn't lock up the tables.

However, Shane stated in one of his threads that this was broken by the devs a while ago and though Lock urged the Revolution dev team to get it fixed it hasn't been addressed yet.

Stupid popup crashed by client yesterday in the $10K GTD Big Bounty with K's on the button and by the time I had the client back up and running I could watch the showdown of the hand with lots of action... wtg.

I know we're making fun of this but it's actually pretty sad. When I was working as PokerEduManager project manager I basically tested every release client myself and worked with the lead developer to ensure our code trunk is versioned right and that we'd never roll out a bugged update.

It's so easy to verify your code and software (if you know what you're doing) that it's almost ridiculous for a company like Rev / Cake to constantly bash up their code with every new release.

Let alone the fact that they haven't managed to configure the auto-updater correctly in about ONE year.

Hahahaha, yep I entirely agree. I should dig up my post like a week ago or more even about this..

I think I am just going to run a virtual machine on my Mac Air and download locks windows client and try that way. Should work but I was trying to avoid using the virtual machine for this fix.

virtual machine like parallels? that will likely slow it down more
