The bottom line is that an unrestricted Ronin is unsustainable, it was left that way as a reward for our loyal players through the period directly after the move and then the levels were enforced for August. The same levels that were always advertised.

We had always planned to revamp our rake chase we just waited till after things were more stable before we did that. So for September we push live with a reworked promotion that we feel helps reward more players but its still a rake chase so levels are still restricted.

This would have made a better post then previous three that you directed at me, especially considering your Rep status.

Why is everybody keep feeding the troll, I don't get it ? He/she keeps repeating the same arguments over and over without even trying to understand what everybody else is saying unless they agree with him/her.
People need to understand that Lock doesn't owe them anything regarding promotions (not talking about fairness of games, better customer support, faster cashouts, etc). They run their promotions how they think is better. You like it, you play. You don't like it, go play somewhere else.
I would be $600 richer this month if Ronin was unlimited but I won't complain. My common sens tells me that even without Ronin their promotions are bigger than any other site ATM. It's not their fault that I couldn't play that much this month because I had a vacation plus other stuff to do and other players filled the Ronin levels faster than I was. Such is life. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don't. Just keep going !

I for one, am excited about the return of a SNG Leaderboard.

I would like to see a discussion of, and player input on, this September promotion in this thread. As a tournament player, I get virtually no direct value from rake chases, but I do understand that anything that helps the site grow gives indirect value.

Opinion: The leaderboard on Merge was dominated by hyper-turbo players. I would like to see Lock structure their new leaderboard so that this does not happen. I think the "streak" multiplier is to blame for this, and would like to see it removed. If a similar "streak" multiplier is used, then break the prizes into smaller leaderboards. Maybe 3: one for hyper-turbos, one for heads-up sngs, and one for the rest of them.

Either way, I'm glad to see Lock paying more attention to their SNG players/games.

All in all these numbers are the same as the ones I've been hearing and seem pretty good for low volume players.

Is there a mtt leaderboard planned for the future? Also are you guys ever gonna bring back the $10,000 monthly VIP freeroll? It's still listed on the Lock VIP page.

To be fair, the streaker portion of the main LB is the only reason a non superturbo player ever made into the top 10 at all. It plays into the hands of slower pace (bigger edge) games way more than it does super turbo players. With that said, the Merge leader board is dominated by Superturbo players because it is based on volume + results and superturbo players will always put in more volume.

For a SNG leaderboard to not be dominated by superturbo players it would need to be based off of table profit. That would likely have a the reverse effect as most ST players would never be able to compete with players of higher ROI games.

I'm not overly concerned either way, but I can tell you the only reason Merge is willing to give out so much money for their LB is because it causes people to put in a ton of volume and generate lots of rake for them. I wouldn't expect Lock to put out much for something that won't put a huge spike in their rake generation.

It will be interesting to see what they come up with. When will more information be released about this?

Yes, for the love of god please adjust the point scales appropriately for hypers. It really sucks putting in the same # of hours as people who grind hypers but having no chance at all of getting a spot on the leaderboard.

I think its cool that lock is even running this promotion. As a rec player who plays micro online and only real stakes playing live.

(1) We already get RB money into the vault
(2) We can sell points anytime for instant cash in the account
(3) You have a shot at additional RB with the chase promotions.

That adds up to alot of money coming back in that I can spew back to the good players.

I think to call ANY promotion that is giving you free money a failure is absurd.

I would have to say for sure your better off with VIP if you are putting in that much volume. Your only losing 1% rakeback most of the plus you are clearing ronin or whatever they are calling it twice as fast. I'm sure someone could run the numbers but I'm almost positive they will come up with that answer. I'm not sure if there is a difference with points to cash but if there is that's an added bonus.

Silver and above VIP are almost certainly better than rakeback when there is a rake chase you can participate.

Got an email back very quickly last night from support saying they forwarded my request to their Affiliate Manager, and that process might take a little longer than their front line CS.

Woke up this morning with an email saying the switch was complete.
