Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

Arrg!!! Had this happen 3 times in 20 games last night. Can it be worse? Why, yes, it does get worse. I have discovered that keeping the registration window open doesn't guarantee you can catch this problem before you start getting blinded down. I kept my reg windows open religiously last night (for HUSNG). The three times my tables did not launch I noticed that by the time the reg window updated to show the game was seating, the table had already been seated long enough for me to lose multiple blinds.

It appears the My Tournaments window updates faster than the registration window so now I'll use that try to work around this. Not really a tenable solution if you are going to multitable.

Shane / Rizen - See the bolded sentence above. Please bring this to your developers because this should give them a starting point to fixing the problem.

And refund your players already for god sakes. There is no reason for Emily to tell me she will issue a refund then several days and emails later, there has been no refund. Get your **** together.

Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

It's happened to me as well. Emailed support, never heard anything back. I've pretty much written the few buy ins off; it is something that weighs heavily on my decision of if and where to give my on line action, though the complete crap shoot of hearing back on anything you email support about weighs more heavily. The communication issue is definitely not related to the migration, and is the same now as it was when I had a persistent issue a year ago.

Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

Bump ... again!!!

I just got blinded out despite watching the My Tournaments window. My hyper HUSNG never even showed up as seating. C'mon Shane & Rizen. You need to take this seriously. This is bull****. I really want to deposit on this site because your promotions are great but I can't do it if you don't run software that actually works or even respond to major issues. So what's the status of this issue? It's a major problem.

By the way, that's now 4 times in my last 22 games.

Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

Rizen repsonded to this issue in the "Lock To Do List" thread:
"MTT/SNG fail to launch: I've reported it and getting more data (like on the previous thread) would be helpful. Honestly I can't reproduce it, so the more data I can give the dev team the better. What OS are people experiencing this running? Are they running any external programs or have their 'focus' on other applications while running (skype, other poker clients, browsing, etc). Does it seem to happen more frequently when running more tables? I've tried to reproduce it 16 tabling DoNs with no luck, but maybe it's a memory issue or something on certain machines?"

And my response with specifics below. FWIW, if anyone else can post with information about their specific set up that might help the developers isolate why this happens.

"I am running Win7 and have seen this issue playing both 1 & 2 tables of HUSNGs (i.e., registered only one table and simply waiting for an opponent or playing one table while waiting for an opponent on another). The only thing I am running other than the Lock client is Google Chrome which I sometimes keep on a small portion of my screen. I don't believe the issue is linked to changing focus to that app though as it has happened to me when I am playing on one table and registered waiting for an opponent on another ... I generally don't touch Chrome while I am playing. As I mentioned in the thread on this issue, I have seen that the registration window often experiences significant lag in updating when another player has joined. I have tried using the My Tournaments window to catch the problem before I get blinded out ... when this issue occurs I have noticed My Tournaments shows the table seating before the registration window. Last night when I was blinded out completely, neither My Tournaments nor the Registration window ever updated to show the table as seating."

Multi-tabling issues: Definitely related to having 'focus' on another application. I've reported it to the dev team and that doesn't make it 'okay' but I've been able to reproduce it this way several times so I know the dev team knows how.

Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

^^^ Nice work ... you are pro.

Rizen / Shane: I noticed something playing this morning (btw 6:30-7am EDT) which I thought might help the devs track this down. Twice I registered for a HUSNG at one stake and while it showed up in the registration window, the fact that I was registered was never reflected in the main window or the My Tournaments window. My tournaments did show the SNG but listed it as 0 players registered and also 0 players in the main window ... even after 5 minutes. I unregged to avoid an issue but saw the exact same behavior when I tried again about 15 minutes later. FWIW, at the same time I was registering and playing without any issues at another stake.

This is the not the first time I have seen two different windows which should logically draw from the same data showing different information and I suspect it is relevant to this issue since I have seen that behavior when the table failed to launch. I am not an expert but my first thought was database latency in triggering an automatic update from queue to queue ... take it for what it's worth (~$.02).

Thanks for the additional info. I run Windows 7 too and honestly I'm contantly browsing (in IE usually) and don't run into any issues. What kind of internet connection are you on? Also (and if you feel more comfortable PMing this to me I understand) what area of the country are you in?

Keep in mind here I'm *JUST* technical enough to be dangerous, but to me it sounds like some sort of intermittent packet loss issue or something between the client and server. Keep in mind I'm completely guessing here (I guess it's a somewhat educated guess) but I'd like to pass that info along to the dev team as it could be helpful.

Thanks

Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

FWIW the Dev team just asked me for the following information from anyone who is impacted by this. If you could please get this to me (you can PM or e-mail me at rizen@lockpoker.com with it) I can pass it along:

· a screenshot of his system specs
· his client’s log files
· his player account CRM UserID
· the tourney Ids of the tourneys in question
· and also the time he noticed the issue starting?

If you're not sure what any of this is or now to get it please let me know and I'll be happy to assist.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Your guess about client/server issues could be right re: the main issue of tables not launching (though one would think there would be some sort of follow up or confirmation required for such an important action as opening the table). But it would not explain the fact the software is not showing proper status for some SNGs in the main and My Tournaments window - - I refreshed several times and it was displaying the proper status of my other table and updated when that game ended. Just sayin' that's some pretty weird behavior. Even if it isn't related to the table launching issue I would think it is worrisome enough to merit a look.

[font:sarcasm]Oh, good I thought they would need more info than that.[/sarcasm]

By any chance have they tried replicating the issue? If it isn't computer specific I would think they could replicate it in less than 50 HT HUSNGs. I won't be back at my poker PC until tomorrow or Sunday but will try to put all of that together. Will PM it to you along with my hourly rate and SOW

Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

Running Win7 and not getting problems but haven't meet any internet lag/disconnect which could cause this problem for others.

I did notice that the client lag'd a little when I had my HUD up which means that the client takes up a lot of RAM so maybe there are updates to fix this b/c other less powerful computers probably can't handle more then 4-5 tables with a HUD (I closed my browser and other useless programs to make sure it wasn't them).

Here are my specs for my computer (I run HM1)

Note: I only play on my primary monitor

Actually yes they have tried replicating the issue as have I personally. I've tried it by just mass registering for SnGs (both HU and DoNs, I have had ~18 going at once for periods of time). You're welcome to anyone who played me HU during that time I'm not sure what they've done to try and replicate it although I'd imagine it was probably more complete than what I did.

Neither side has been able to replicate it but obv enough people are complaining of it that it def needs to be looked into ASAP which is why they asked me for more info.

Re: Registered for SNG, table never popped up

I also have the same issue with hu sng-s as mentioned above (table doesn't pop up, sng lobby does not change). Any solution found for this?

It seems the dev team did nothing since summer.
