Rakeback player vs VIP? Rakeback player vs VIP?

11-16-2012 , 09:22 AM
To BluffinNuts: your total RB will be: 45% flat from BlackVIP Elite, ~35% in bonus (~40% if you play 9-handed), 10% from points conversion, ~23% from Nov rakechase, and then Lock Lotto maybe ;-)

So about 113% RB, get paid to play yes, enjoy

And yeah, i think it's a fair assumption they're not drowning in money by offering these deals. I mean, the vast majority are still low MGR RB players who do pay for the service, but they can't be making that much if they're giving away money to their top rakers.

I haven't played on Lock in a while but I think RB players have to rake twice as much to place in the rake chase but I might be wrong about that.
I think your correct on that one buddy.

i'm thinking about making an account on lock poker. i play quite frequently so it seems as if VIP will be the way to go.

is VIP a default option when starting out? should i sign up with a rakeback site and then switch over afterward? and will i be able to switch back to rakeback if i ever need to?

thanks in advance.

I suggest indeed starting with RB, then swap over once you hit WhiteVIP (150$ in rake paid).

Anyone know what the hell this is: "$10/700 VIP Cash Redemption" this comes off the VIP page of their website

If it makes you feel a bit more secure, after a month of playing Ive paid out about $600 net in rake, that ought to be enough to keep the coffee flowing at the Lockpoker offices

It means you get 10$ per 700 VIP points you convert into cash.

Funny tip: if you convert per 6 points rather than for entire amounts, you'll get 10,50$ for the same 700 VIP points (due to rounding)

So I've already raked 200 for the month. Should I make the jump to VIP?

How do you convert your points to cash?

That seems to be the general consensus... I dont even know how to tell if youre a VIP player or a rakeback player, as soon as I started playing on Lock my White VIP bar started going up, even though I was clearing a buy in bonus. I really am confused how the whole thing works, I just know that I am getting a decent amount of money into my vault lol

I am nearly halfway through my silver VIP, I am assuming I am getting the 15% rakeback for being a White VIP, but is there any way to track this and make sure?

Go to your Vault, then "View transactions" it's quite small so easy to miss.

To convert your points, go to your Cashier -> Points tab.

Thanks Mccormick, you are a wealth of information

I'm in the same boat, can someone answer this please?
Also from what i've read it seems you have to always be clearing a bonus for VIP to be effective. Do they have multiple reload bonuses that you can use more then once? How are you supposed to keep clearing bonuses after you have finished the initial deposit bonus.

THank you!

According to my calculations, you guys should swap over to VIP. Feel free to calculate yourself ofcourse. However as above poster says only IF you ARE clearing a bonus!!! very important ofcourse because otherwise it'll be better to stay on RB.

Given the fact the bonus means ~35-40% effective rakeback, you'd be silly not to be clearing one, though, especially given you can always keep reloading with the bonus code THEFUTURE (if this one no longer works, which is possible, then it's another code, probably posted right here on 2+2 somewhere, i'll check in a bit). Edit: from Shane in the November Promotions thread:

That being said, once you deposit, the bonus value is 200% of what you deposited, so a 200$ deposit would give 400$ in bonus to clear, that's quite a lot and will take quite some time to clear. Furthermore, the bonus remains valid for 90 days. Chances are within these 90 days they will release new bonus codes anyway. Ofcourse if you do clear all of your bonus before there's a new code that's another thing..

But yeah, VIP is best for almost everyone if you have the bonus on.

Not sure about that, but like McCormick said you can go into your vault and check exactly what level VIP you are. They have all the VIP levels listed on their website, so at White youre getting 15% rakeback. When clearing a bonus it is an addiotional percentage but im not sure what

I think you can only use THEFUTURE once, there is one posted in the November promotions, but again it is a one time use

if ur a rakeback player and not VIP can you still exchange points for cash?

Yes, at half of the VIP rate, which is 5% RB and 10% VIP b/c you earn points 2x faster being on VIP.

A simpler way to put it is to assume point value equals 5% extra RB equivalent if you're on RB, and 10% extra RB equivalent if you're on VIP.

White vip is 15% cashback + point conversion 10%, so thats 25% RB. Bonus is 35%-40%(?). So if I am White VIP with bonus, do I have 60% RB? Add in some other promos and I am well over 70%? Is this true?

For anyone looking for information. You can calculate your own rakeback pretty easily for VIP once you have the information.

VIP + Points Exchange + Bonus + Rake Chase + Other Promos

VIP is pretty simple. For the first $150 you get nothing, for $150 - $750 you get white (15%), etc. Every month after that you will get whatever you ended up raking for the previous month.

http://lockpoker.eu/vip/

-------------------------

VIP Points Exchange is also rather easily calculated when you know what you are looking at. I believe points are accumulated at the following rates (Someone check me on tournaments);

6-Max = ~5pts / $1 Raked = 7% Effective Rakeback
FR and Tournaments = ~7pts / $1 Raked = 10% Effective Rakeback

--------------------------

Bonuses are calculated off of what game you play because you gain points at that rate. You need 84 points to clear $5 of the bonus.

6-Max = ~30% Effective Rakeback
FR and Tournaments = ~40% Effective Rakeback

--------------------------

Rake Chases change from month to month but they have generally held the same rake% over the long haul. Keep in mind that unless you rake a lot very quickly at the beginning of the month you will not get all the prize levels and you are likely to not get a lot of the prizes you will have raked for by the end of the month due to the limited prizes.

The Big Chase = ~17% Effective Rakeback
Double Agent = ~17% Effective Rakeback

*Keep in mind playing at Double Agent tables will rake for both Double Agent and the Big Chase so you get 34% Effective Rakeback there.

----------------------------

Other promos like lock lotto, double VIP points, etc. are harder to calculate and are generally very small amounts regardless. But they can add a couple points to your bottom line.

----------------------------

So the maximum one could rake via the VIP program is if someone were a FR Player and played exclusively at Double Agent tables. They would have to have a bonus and hit all the levels of the rake chase per their rake. Finally they would have to be a Black VIP Elite.

This would net someone ~129% effective Rakeback not counting other promotions.

VIP (which I understand is synonymous with FPP) points are earned at 1 point per $1 raked at your table. I just requested to be switched back to RB, but playing as a WhiteVIP at 6max .10/.20 PLO tables that probably avg around 4.5 players at any given time I was getting about 15% rakeback from my bonus. I was also getting the 15% cashback from WhiteVIP, as well as about 3% from point accumulation. 15%+15%+3% = 33%. Switching back to Rakeback I'll be getting 36% + .5*15% for the bonus so 43.5% which is obviously higher than what I was getting with VIP.

I checked with support and they assured that I was accruing VIP points at the appropriate rate, so I guess it really comes down to how many players are at your tables. I've seen it posted many times that bonus should be about 35% RB for 6max players, and point accumulation should be another 10%. Over ~15,000 hands for me this simply was not the case, and not even close. Once a small stakes WhieVIP player can get a decent sample down please let me know if you experience anything different.

Thanks

You're forgetting the fact you need to rake double as much for the Rake Chase levels. However if you don't hit those in either case then ofcourse it doesn't matter.

WhiteVIP will be worse than RB if you don't hit the Rake chase levels indeed. SilverVIP is simply better always, cut and clear.
