First, I have not been paid anything. I did not make it to the official cancelation because I couldn't play after the 1000/2000 level.
Second, everyone at my table was "sitting in." I have a hard time believing that a large % of the field was screwed after the first break when 0% of that group was represented at my table.
Third, I was bumped off the site multiple times and had to move from my Mac to a PC in an effort to try anything to get back into the game. When I was able to get back on after being bumped the first time (the "first break" bump) everyone was "sitting out" and the tournament was officially "paused" by the "tournament floor" and then play resumed. The 2nd time, I logged back in after being bumped, again, everyone was "sitting out" and quickly returned within 30sec of my return (I had to watch my SB be open folded as Lock would not allow me to "take my seat").
If you weren't there for it, then you should know us "lucky" players were forced to watch everyone time out per action making play progress at a rate of fewer than 10hands/hr (post the 1000/2000 level). It's this lag and being D/C'd multiple times that makes me think that they were able to resolve the initial issues before the site became overwhelmed. However, Lock still probably let the tournament run for another hour before canceling it. The tournament is hardly running at the rate of 10hands/hr IMO.
For the record, I don't like hearing people brag about their payouts either. People who were compensated seem to have been fortunate enough to receive an inflated amount as fewer players were remaining in the field due to technical issues and not play.
Again, I think Lock should formally communicate with the players as to when tournaments were officially canceled and why. They also need to provide an explanation as to why they were canceled and why they were canceled when they were. By playing on their site I have agreed to their MTT cancelation policies. I think I am entitled to an explanation as to what occurred today and a detailed explanation as to Lock's resolution and why.
