so wu has been down before in the past?

also someone who got a wu withdrawal approved recently can you explain how you can "tell" that you got the fee reimbursed.

like if i withdraw 2200.00 (to pay for the 2000 withdrawal). where do u check to see you got the 200 back?

last time i did it the 200 just went into the casino. and then i transferred it back into poker.

this time i did not get it back in casino. all the casino transfer histories show 2200.00, -2200.00, 2200.00, etc. so there was no time where they subtracted the fee (atleast as it seems).

My assumption is they pulled down WU cashouts until the October WU cashout issue is resolved which makes sense to me.

I would just contact support and ask. You get one free withdraw a month so if it was declined/accepted in the same month then you have to eat the $200 fee.

first decline/accepted in nov.

working with support currently. but i dunno where the 200 typical goes.

casino balance?
placed back in poker balance without news/notification?

my understanding is 2000 is the most you can submit for a withdrawal, and therefore 1800 is the most you can receive in a single transaction. hopefully others can confirm/deny this.

as far as telling if you've been reimbursed, i was having trouble with this my last transaction, since apparently they do it automatically now. however the transaction sheet doesn't really give any indication that i've been reimbursed. i sent them like 5 emails asking why this was and they just insisted that i'd been reimbursed, so i'm guessing they're correct. going to start keeping track of my account balance in an excel spreadsheet from now on just so i have some way to verify this next time i cash out.

I've gotten 2K cash before at the WU place (so $2,200 taken out of my account, then $200 put back in)

I write down my account balances fwiw to tell if I get the fee back and stuff. No idea if there's an easier way or not.

I think everyone should be doing this, especially since there have been many posts about people missing money for different reasons (tournaments/SNGs freezing, auto top-off problems in cash games).

I have an excel sheet that I keep with a "Date", "Balance Start", and "Balance Finish" column, and edit them every day. I do this even though I have PT4 importing all hands. This way I can compare my excel spreadsheet with my PT4 database to make sure I'm not missing any money do to errors on Lock's part.

I highly recommend everyone does this.

I was told 2 weeks ago I'd see my mtcn last week. Last Thursday they said my mtcn would arrive by today. Since Lock is obviously .eu I thought I'd wake up and have my WU info. Checked my cashier to see the good old blank pending screen.

Requested: 10/24
Decline/Approved: 11/12
Still nothing as of 12/3

41 days and counting. I sent them an email...Shane can you follow this up for me?

Thanks; and you're probably right. I'll just wait...

Love that album btw (ur avatar).

I have more than $2k in my account and want to withdraw all of it. $2k max and month long waits are a bit ridiculous. Should I just get a check?
12-03-2012 , 01:35 PM
Shane, can we get a timeframe on when WU will be back? Thanks.

if you want to wait 2 months for a check, sure.

What is the point of playing when my balance exceeds the amount I can cash out. There needs to be a bigger cashout option.

Use p2p transfers.

From what I understand you can do 1 Western Union (WU) cashout(max $2k) per week. When WU cashouts were available I think they were working pretty smoothly, aside from the problems they seem to have had with a batch in October.

This would mean you can get four 2k transfers out per month at a fee of 10% each. However, one of these four cashouts are entitled to have the fees refunded.

On top of this you can do a $3k check, although these seem to be taking 2-3 months.

So, am I being too optimistic in assuming one could cashout around $8k /month plus $3k every other month or so?

you can pretty much dump it at .75 all day right now. .7 is pretty low

I dunno, I have a hard time trusting P2P and paying 25% vig seems insane. I'll just go to Commerce or the bike. But I put money on Lock because I like playing PLO and they don't always run that out here.

Never had a WU take a week. Not even close. Always a month. You can't have 2 pending cash outs. It's kind of a mess, if they would just increase their withdrawal limits it'd be fine. I have no prob waiting 3 weeks to a month for a payout in this environment but it's discouraging that I can only legitmately make $2,000 / month due to the cash out limits. I want to just not play once I reach the $2k.

Unfortunately thats the nature of online poker in the US nowadays. I've long forgotten about sweating over vigs and just went with them. Yeah it sucks but there are no other options. There are a ton of reputable traders here and if you do your homework you have only a super small chance of getting scammed.

Anyone offering at .7 right now should be avoided. That's way too low given the market right now. Of course, that can easily change.

I know this is the WU thread, but since WU is down at the moment and the discussion has digressed a bit to cover p2p transfers, I'd like to know a bit of info on them.

Is there a thread dedicated to p2p transfers?
Also what is the typical protocol? Who typically "goes first" in the transaction? I would assume since the person receiving the cash must do so at a discount, it seems reasonable that they would be "last to act". Also what is the typical discount? 0.85?

Im curious about this as well, seconded!

Yes there is a thread dedicated to this in the internet poker forum, read the first page and it will answer most of your questions. But the person with the most rep usually sends first, not whoever is sending the least amount of money. The current rate for lock is .75 for bank wire/xfer/depo possibly a few cents higher for other poker sites.

Sounds like a headache and a waste of money
12-03-2012 , 11:20 PM
I agree, only getting 3/4 of your money is horrendously bad imo, not to mention indeed possibility of being scammed.

If you really need your money fast, though.. then yeah i guess just bite the bullet
