Lock pro's not wearing patches at WSOP Lock pro's not wearing patches at WSOP

The Lock Pros are not allowed to wear patches while playing in the WSOP. Which makes me wonder what value they have to Lock and vice versa?

If a pro wins a bracelet, makes a final table or plays at a featured WSOP table then Lock will get indirect exposure. I don't see how this helps a pro unless they are getting some of their entries paid in advance.

So whether they wear a patch or not as long as they are on the pro roster, they give Lock Poker exposure. They are supporting Lock Poker by having their profile and bio on the website. This is probably part of some contractual obligation.

Chris Moorman and Paul Volpe seemed to leave because they didn't renew contracts, so the timing was good for them.

To answer OP again, it's no big surprise they are not sporting Lock Poker patches at the WSOP because the WSOP doesn't allow patches to be worn by players at events for companies who take USA players.

It's not like you didn't mentioned it yet by digging up the WSOP rules. Maybe this time the info will stick

This right here. As many of us have wondered, what value can these Pro's bring? Back on FullTilt and other sites even, there was a "Search Player" feature, where you could find any player or pro you wanted that was playing under their handle and observe them. I've never even seen 'TheGrinder' play anything and he's their biggest Pro, first on their Pro webpage. Nor would I know if he did play something because I'm not about to browse all cash games. Not only THAT, but Fair Play Technology hides a bunch of games from everyone nowadays, so even THEN he'd still be invisible to many (the observing type crowd).

I've legit never seen him, NOR does he have an internet following, most certainly not one that would justify being the sole reason for paying him for your site. So, if he also can't advertise Lock at the WSOP by rules, then what good does he bring? He doesn't attract tons of ROW players by wearing Lock patches at international tournaments. Lock clearly doesn't institute a mandatory amount of weekly hours or tournaments played for their Pro's, at least not across the board to all Pro's, so why do they waste the money?

And honestly, while the stupidity rests on Lock's shoulders, someone like 'TheGrinder' Mizrachi can step up himself and make his presence seen on the site to promote traffic. But no, he's not that type of a guy. Which is a disgrace. Even just KNOWING that you could sign on and see him playing a few days a week would entice a lot of observers (don't know why you'd really want to observe him, but yeah it would), which would create a boom for traffic. Unless of course Fair Play Technology would in fact make him invisible to a lot of people. He defines the phrase 'bare minimum' in regards to being a Pro for Lock.

@vindictive up until about a month and a half ago Mizrachi had a pre Full Tilt Poker banner on his Twitter page and hardly promoted at all. I agree with everything you said and feel the same about Obrestad. Another strange thing about the Lock Pro Roster is that some of their profiles are not updated. I remember a few years ago a green light would appear next to their name when they were playing, I think.

The only thing that this could be is that have a contractual agreement that prohibits them from talking negatively about the company while "working" in the contract period and a few months or years after they leave.

A hungover college kid seeking beer money could do a better job of bringing in players right now than most of them.

I've railed Mike playing HU PLO on Lock a couple of times and also been railing Eric though he's not signed by Lock he's playing there too. I've also watched MommaGrinder take down a couple of tournaments. So yeah, Mike is in fact playing on Lock.

Though their pro players are not allowed to wear the Lock patch at the WSOP, Mike has been wearing the Lock patch at the EPT in Berlin and the WPT in Vienna. Pretty sure he's also wearing it when playing at Turlock.

Francisco was wearing the Lock patch at the last WSOPE where he also won his first bracelet.

So I guess there is value for Lock in their pro players just not a lot of value for the WSOP
