Players should be able to exchange Satellite tickets for cash.

1. The value of each subsequent step goes down as most of the higher Satellites comprise mostly of 'regs.'

2. In addition, I would get more value out of the exchange, for example a $215 ticket exchange, than actually playing in that tournament in which there are unprofitable guarantees for that particular buy-in.

Another suggestion includes utilizing the Satellite ticket for Tournament dollars, the same system that is currently used for the VIP points.

1. Players will not be restricted to playing in only a select number of tournaments that have fixed buy-ins, but rather players will be able to use the tournament dollars across all tournaments being offered.

change the ST blind structure so instead of going from 50/100 to 100/200 it goes to 75/150 first.

How about some more uses for $109 tickets? I thought I saw a SnG satellite which advertised a ticket for a "Daily $109 Deepstack". 1 $109 Deep, 2 or 3 $109 FO's, 2 or 3 $109 turbos daily would be awesome. Obv they would be small fields, but i think a 4k-5k guarantee on any $109 would fill daily with the amount of satellites currently offered. In addition to the satellites being more lucrative to grinders if more ways to utilize the tickets were available

Did you report this?? This is obviously against the rules. most players get a warning the first time, but after that usually more serious action is taken including but not limited to a chat ban.

Thanks

would be nice, i never know wtf i m registering for unless i double check, which is annoying when you got a bunch of games going

Would it be possible to add more limits to heads up cash games? Specifically .05/.10 HUNL?
11-14-2011 , 12:37 PM
I would like to be able to use a tournament ticket valued at $11 in any tournament, not just a satellite.

Lock should introduce 8 game mix to their mix games

I really want to see the "don´t steal focus from the chat and note-taking"-option.

the way it is now, it really makes me not taking notes.

It would be really nice to have a sit out next big blind option. Also apply tiling to active monitor only.

-We need $10 turbo DoNs(and $50s).
-We need 4 of each level always registering at a time(like regular DoNs). They run when a few players join them but their visibility is terrible with the current filter/sort issues so they are either hit or miss at 20s. 5s run fine but as mentioned there are no 10s.

YOU NEED TO ADD AN AUTO REBUY CHECKBOX. seriously so many rebuys i get out of during the rebuy period because im playing 10-25 tables and you guys dont have an auto rebuy. I not only avoid playing them now, but I even quit playing because it pisses me off when this happens. just a nice little checkbox in the bottom corner would mean that I alone would pay hundreds more in rake per year so get on it

They actually don't make any more rake from you when you rebuy. Just saying ...

May you please explain the 'true' reason as to why players cannot exchange tournament tickets for cash?

I emailed support and they wouldn't even consider doing such a thing:

"Hello,

I am afraid Tournament Tickets cannot be exchanged for Cash or other Tickets."

It's not that difficult, unless they are worth less than their face value due to promotional purposes.

Any explanation or progress on this issue is much appreciated. Thank you.

DLC, I'm going to guess that the "true" reason is that it is a business decision by the company designed to increase revenue.

Longer answer: you know how when you buy something that has a manufacturer rebate, you might spend $200, but you can get $50 back by sending in the rebate paperwork? You might wonder why they don't just charge you $150. The answer is because not everyone will send the paperwork in. If only 75% of purchasers send in for a rebate, then the average cost of the thing is $162.50 instead of $150. That's an extra $12.50 made simply because they can count on a less-than 100% redemption rate. This $12.50 is the vig that is made on this type of pricing scheme, and in this context is split by the manufacturer and the retailer. (In real life, 75% is way high - I think average is around 50%.)

How does this analogy apply to the tickets? Obviously, not 100% of tickets are redeemed. And that's good for Merge. The tickets represent money taken out of operating income and put back into prize pools. Whatever percent doesn't get put back in stays with Merge. If the tickets were redeemable for cash, there would be a 100% redemption rate and Merge makes less money. So by not allowing the tickets to be redeemed for cash, Merge gets to keep all the vig generated by people not using their tickets.

Bear in mind that it's entirely possible that this is factored into the decision of how many tickets are given out. They may give out enough where if 100% were redeemed they would lose money. This means that they are splitting the vig with the player pool. But there's no way they would tell you or anyone this as it's an internal business decision.

thx for taking the time and eloquently laying it all out. I personally knew all this but that is a pretty kick ass explanation and analogy. so much so I had to chime in.

Cheers!

Agreed, thank you very much dumboldguy!

It's just unbearable that all of the Merge representatives acknowledge player suggestions and improvements, such as this one, and affirm that they are 'speedily' getting it to Merge 'Executives'. All along they have ulterior motives.

"Progress is being made, we promise! Updates are coming.”

As far as I understand it, there is some sort of big merge update in the works. I don't think there's anything the Lock Poker people can do about that -- they have to wait for the network to provide those options for us.

Rake is just atrocious for 6max & 10man turbos(not supers). Why is it the same as reg speeds?
12-18-2011 , 02:41 PM
we need more $30-$50 mtts. seems like everything in this range is a rebuy and there isnt much so and going from $20 mtts to $33 rebuys is a big jump
