As I mentioned, I didn't need to verify twice, but I can understand why it might be assumed (and possibly required for some people).
The poker side uses the Merge cashier, and if I'm not mistaken, they set the verification policy. The casino side uses a different cashier (as Rizen mentioned, another network) so it would not be unreasonable to believe they could have their own verification policy and would not have any visibility into the Merge verification.
That said, I wasn't asked to verify at the casino. But I wouldn't have been terribly surprised if they said so.
