I say this only half kidding, half serious....

well played

I would bet that lock ends up regretting this decision, its a lot easier to switch skins on merge than it is to switch to the horrendous cake software.

I'm using HEM2 I have not tried using HEM1 since they started allowing HUDS so I'm not sure on that version. I would check the HEM website about compatibility with HEM1 and Cake. I can guarantee you HEM2 works flawlessly for me as it does on other sites.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

Why the hate for the cake software? It`s a lot better than the crappy merge client and I didnt have problems playing 9+ tables.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

I play on Cake religiously and I want to share what I would love to see added, kept and changed

Add HORSE, Draw, 2-7 and STUD games. And NLO8 mtts
Add ability to register for mtts in advance (up to 12 hrs)
Add auto add on for rebuy mtts (thanks for finally fixing this)
Add more cash out options for US players
Add iphone app and mac support
Add Time Bank for cash games
Add deal it twice feature
Add new avatars

Keep the Ubber-fast cake costumer support... they are top notch
Keep the gold card concept and the tradition but make new use for them, like adding gold card sngs.
Keep the overall table design and feel (the simple view is great) but improve the performance on slow computers and laptops
Keep the Advanced Filter options
Keep the colors for notes on players (this is my favorite feature) I would like to see more colors and larger highlights

Change the way rakeback is distributed. The current delt method is very bad for the game imo
Change the way you are rewarded the satelite tickets (currently it will only show 1 ticket of the same type even if you have 5) and it will automatically register you and most players forget to unregister and therefore miss playing the tourney
Change or eliminate the gold chips and loyalty levels

I wish yall a great success!

my hud works fine when i play on merge. it's when i play on cake thats the problem (the hud works fine but the seats are in different orders on each table). also there is no seating preferences for the cake network in holdem manager so that could be the issue. i am using holdem manager 1 instead of 2.

+1

Cake used to have the COOLEST promos back in the day. Their cake shop was one of my favorite poker site stores on the net. I got an apple t.v., rum cake, ipods (2), and a whole bunch of other things. Now all I can get is stupid $100 bonuses PLEASE bring back the cake shop...I loved it (I grinded so many extra hands to get my apple t.v., only way the wife would let me get one)

In other words, stores with cool things = makes me googogogog/grind. Because my wife is cool with anything I buy with poker points (big screen t.v.s, or ipads or computers etc. Even if I "could" get cash for my points, my wife doesn't care and is cool with it cause she knows that extra incentive brings in a lot more money for the family)

Re: Lock buys Cake?

Shane,

Pretty pumped about this. I was skeptical at first b/c my gut-reaction was "ugh, gonna be another Doyle's Room fiasco" but upon further reading, I am pretty optimistic about it.

Any plans to revamp the hand history software? I enjoy having the card images for quick viewing, but if the text-portion of the hand history (in the upper right corner of the hh screen) contained every detail of the hand, so as to be able to simply copy/paste into pokerhand or something, I would really appreciate it.

Good luck with the Cakeover!

Re: Lock buys Cake?

All you guys complaining about the Cake software obviously don't know ****. If you don't have any recent experience multi-tabling on the new update that was released, don't sound like an idiot and talk about something you don't know.

I multitable on Cake (up to 16 tables) with HUD running with zero lag now. A few months ago, the client would start lagging when you started running 10+ tables and progressively get worse the longer your session was. Now, it runs nearly flawlessly. I haven't had a single lag issue since the big update.

Also, one of the biggest secrets about Cake is how much value they pay out. Their promotions actually ARE very good, between having Dealt RB/rake race/promos. Hopefully Lock is smart and continues to cater to the heavy-volume grinders on the new Revolution.

And for the love of god, keep Dealt RB. Are there any rooms people can think of that have seen GROWTH after switching from Dealt to Contributed? Keep grinders happy. Fish don't give a **** about RB. Dealt RB also means the poker rooms, if they are doing business correctly, make MORE money because grinders pay substantially more rake, and rake=profit for rooms, not deposits=profit. Giving grinders more money actually makes the rooms more money.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

Hi

Yes Intertops will stay on the Revolution Gaming Network (former Cake Network) and we will keep our own cashier to be able to keep our quick processing.

Best regards,

The Intertops Poker Team

If Lock can somehow figure out a way to be competitive it can only benefit the rest of us U.S. players, as more competition is always better for the customers! And it would really be nice to have another viable option.

But I am really curious how will they handle RB. Will those who joined Lock after Merge discontinued RB, be able to get RB on the Revolution network? I imagine Lock will absolutely have to offer some sick incentives to its current player base so as to increase the likelihood that many of them will migrate over to Cake/Revolution, instead of just switching to another Merge skin. Lastly, any info on Intertops' future plans? Are they staying on Cake/Revolution as a skin?

Re: Lock buys Cake?

be as creative as you want with the tourney schedule but remember that non- turbo, NLHE freezeouts are the most popular , so please have plenty of them.
