Re: Lock buys Cake?

Hey guys I really want your feedback on the Cake software.

#1. When was the last time you used the Cake software, they have gone through several upgrades including an important performance based upgrade a month or two ago.

#2. What changes do you want to see in the software?

We have already seen people say they hate the software because you cant multi-table, so firstly want to make sure we are all talking about the most recent version of the software and then want to find out what you what changed.

We actually designed most of the Merge software update which should finally go live soon, so while we will launch with a Lock Skinned version of the existing Cake software we are already working on integrating our all the things we loved from our work on the Merge update as well as a few things we wanted which we couldn't get built in the Merge system.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

I've played on Intertops as of a few months ago and I was not a fan of their client. This was version 2 I believe. Version 1 was ok and ran a little smoother but they were in the process of fazing that one out. Version 2 was clunky and very laggy in my experience. Not sure if it's the same as other skins on the network but I was really turned off by it. Mulitabling was very hard as it would lag and freeze up. My computer is only a few years old but it should be able to run a freakin' poker client.

Just make it run smooth and functional, especially for multitabling. We don't need a bunch of gimmicks or anything.

cake 2.0 is incredibly, terribly, horrific. just do urself a favor and do away with that completely. 1.0 is far and away better but still has the occasional bug whereas 2.0 isn't even playable even on super computers.

Our cashier is completely independent so the move will make no difference, it will be the same before and after the move.

We are constantly looking to improve our processing, but the move to the new network wont be the cause for improvements.

Hopefully Merge can implement their new software quickly. Sounds like Cake's software is pretty universally hated (I don't think I've ever played on their current software).

Re: Lock buys Cake?

I played on Cake a long time ago and don't remember the software, but I am very excited about this move. I think having the folks at Lock run things (instead of merge) will be a very good thing for the players. They seem to run great promos and the RB will be great. Watch out merge!

I've sent everyones feedback off so we can try to get a better picture of where it stands now. From my recent discussions with the Cake CEO the performance of the software had been greatly increased. Need to find out if the people that are hating on it have been playing on the same software the he is saying is improved.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

Please bring more life to the table, If so please bring accolades along to the new software, Players like showing status and some don't but as long as it is there it can be used and not used. Avatars is a must and should be different than other skins..... I also like the chat aniamation that MERGE has is there any way LOCK has there own? I think my brother spoke with Liezl about all of this but did not mention the chat stuff can you please pass this on Shane.

Play it to see for yourself. Version 2 is horrendous. It's practically unplayable at times. If this is practically the same thing that we will see on the new lock, I won't be playing there.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

How about using a HUD? I heard that you cannot use a HUD on Cake. I haven't upgraded to Holdem Manager 2 yet, so i don't know what's available there yet, but Holdem Manager 1 doesn't even have an option for it.

Do you have a MAC version?
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer a version of our software specifically designed for the MAC.
