Re: Lock buys Cake?

Can someone elaborate at what this Ronin VIP system is? I am likely going to get to the Elite VIP level on Lock this month. Would it be pointless form me to do this?

Re: Lock buys Cake?

Ronin is a rakerace (not a VIP system). It is likely being added onto whatever rakeback and/or VIP scheme they put together.

Nobody really knows whether getting Black Elite this month is worthwhile or will be completely pointless. Lock says they will announce more details of their VIP/rakeback by the end of the week. So hopefully the aspect of "carry-over" VIP stuff will be addressed there.

No idea what they are going to do with those who achieve Black Elite this month. Would be pretty cheesy to give them nothing for that effort and all that rake. It is my suspicion they wouldn't leave them out in the cold but you just never know. They very well could start completely from scratch for all we know and erase anything/everything from the Merge days.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

I've been playing on Cake and Lock for a while now. I've never cashed out on lock, but cake took 3 and a half months to get my first cashout. My second one has been pending for over 2 months now. I seriously hope that this buyout of cake will provide quicker cashouts for cake players than what they have had. I really don't understand how Cake support can be ridiculously fast at responding to emails (I've had responses within 10 minutes of sending an email) yet not be able to cashout players for three and a half months. If cashouts are sped up, I will play way more often. It's annoying knowing that the most you can cashout in a year is like 10k on average for cake.

lock poker will still keep their fast cashier next month but this won't apply to the other skins so i wouldn't get your hopes up unless you plan to move to lock

If you are hoping to get at least 36% on your existing Cake account, you have to ask Cake. Lock is carrying forward with their own cashier and their own rakeback programs, etc. so if you want the 36% you need to switch to Lock after June 1st.

though I have no confirmation of the exact rakeback programs being offered by Lock.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

Does anyone know what the future holds for the Cake Gold Cards and the Exchange? How will it be affected? Will lock incorporate it throughout the revolution network or will it be isolated to only cake skin?

Definitely all carries over.

We are still working out how the rakeback/VIP fits together but there will be no reduction in value for our existing players.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

I know it's been said a few times but would be awesome if you accepted players from the currently banned states on merge. If you are leery about it then maybe just allow "referrals" to open accounts. I'm pretty sure I could find a bunch of people to vouch for me that I'm not the DOJ.

The funny thing is that when Merge announced they weren't going to accept any new players from NY after a certain date I rushed to open an account on almost every Merge skin, Cake and other small poker sites. I wonder how many other people did this.

Re: Lock buys Cake?

KingKong - I rushed to open accounts on the other Merge skins after they gave a date that the "no new rakeback accounts" was announced. Just in case I wanted to switch it.

But I don't think they gave an advance date for the NY "ban." Thought it came pretty suddenly. Maybe I'm remembering incorrectly. I'm in NY too btw. Had to use a Florida address for one of my sign-ups (not Lock).

Re: Lock buys Cake?

Please excuse me if this post seems like a repetition of many others but can it be explained clearly and succinctly:

1) Is Lock Poker leaving Merge (the network) as a skin, and buying cake pokers network thereby adopting for lack of a better term, all cakes skins?

2) Is Locks plan to start an ENTIRELY NEW NETWORK that will compete on its own two legs. with the eventual goal of having other skins, or will it be its own network not accepting skins ala pstars and ftp

I know this answer has had several attempts at being answered yet I am still confused therefore I think a really in depth clarification would help us understand what exactly is happening.

p.s. - shane why are you ignoring my post and also my PM?

On an entirely different note I recommend this video as it is truly incredible. Shows what happens when people band together in action

1) Correct, Lock is separating from the Merge Network and is also buying the Cake network to include in Revolution Gaming, the new (combined) network.

2) I tried to answer this above, so yes, Revolution Gaming will be the new network.

shane, is Lock going to stay with contributed rake or are they switching to dealt like the rest of the cake network currently is?

1) The network has been acquired the existing rooms will remain separate entities on the network.

2) Lock will have its room on the network and run the network.

Im still trying to get through my PMs, I will answer yours now. Not sure post you are referring to, if its not referenced in your PM please shoot me a PM so I can answer that for you too.
