Good game on the pipe dream world you live in.

Guess what, we're living here and now, and here and now, even a fish like you is getting 75% rakeback, the highest you'll find anywhere. If you're a high volume player you're getting ~100% rakeback.
It's not a pipe dream world, it's reality, the only person who's dreaming about what might or might not happen in the future is YOU, by speculating they're going to cut off things like bonuses.

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
Hey McC, lets keep it simple for your little brain, but I'm sure you will try to avoid the facts. As was just mentioned, do me a favor and look at post #1 of this thread by Shane. Shane says one thing, but this month is not being run exactly like last month. Lock fails again.
Also, McC it appears you forgot to take your meds today.

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
booger - It was "supposed" to be that way back on Feb, 2011 or whenever they first started doing Ronin. But they had never done this before and pretty much just made it unlimited prizes. Probably because they didn't have the thing in place to count up the prizes awarded and do the cut-off thing.
At least they are letting us know they are doing this AND listing how many are left at each level (as well as the names of the winners at each level). I think that's kind of a step in the right direction. But I too wish they would have just kept it all unlimited.
But they're going with this now. I'm not overjoyed about it but it's not terrible either.
Missing out on the first couple levels though based on not knowing they were actually going to stick with the count thing time. But again...no biggie. Even without Ronin it's still pretty good value at Lock especially with the continuing reload stuff.

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
im always assuming there are more high volume/medium volume grinders/rakebackpros/goodplayers then fish and randos nowadays. probably wrong
+ lock's reward system automatically rewards fish and randos lot more then any other site so they dont do stupid **** like buy a t-shirt or forget to use their points and then bust.
i dont see how its viable to keep it unlimited?
the requirement to get blackelite is awesomely easy.
lol just realized microbob said since feb 2011. k i have no idea how they make money now. o wells, works for me. reward system treating me gooot

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
booger - They did Ronin in early 2011. Certainly didn't have as many players then (pre-Black Friday) so probably weren't maxing out the prizes anyway. But the number of prizes at each level I think were exactly the same when I joined Lock in April, 2011 and it looked it was a carry-over month after month of the same thing.
I thought the same things a lot of players currently think about the maxing out stuff. "Is it even worth playing? How do I know if I can still get level X or if it is maxed-out."
But I started playing there on April 17, 2011 or something (shortly after Black-Friday) and got every single Ronin level so then I thought, "okay, well, looks like they don't have enough players for this max-out thing to matter anyway. Or, if they do, they don't actually implement the max thing."
Then Lock was forced to nuke Ronin in June, 2011 as per Merge directive. May, 2011 was the last time they did Ronin as a member of Merge.
The only reason I know they did it before April, 2011 (even though I wasn't playing there) was because they were super-slow to update their promo page on their website and it looked obvious that it was just something they were doing month after month and was a given. Somewhere there was a reference to "running all month in February" (or January or whatever) whereas other places were updated properly for the current month.
Anyway, they announced a couple months ago that they were going to bring back Ronin almost immediately when they announced they were leaving Merge to purchase the Cake Network.
In fact, I was about ready to make a joke post, "Bring back Ronin!!" when they said, "hey, we're leaving Merge. New promos coming!!" But then they beat me to it and said they actually ARE going to bring back Ronin before I could even make that crack.
At that point I went, "whoa. Really? Holy crap!!"

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
So when we start seeing client changes? I just started on Lock today and realized the client is the old Cake client and don't see any improvements really. I really would like to see Lock get off the feet a bit and see some real changes.
I do like the Ronin and the deposit bonus however. Now that I am seeing the writing on the wall that FTP and PS may be a US facing site once regulated, that will bring Lock to it's knees. I would like to see it happen and get it to be the best poker site but I am not sure the strength of PS will see it's demise.

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
It kinda sucks for the low MGR guys they started with the enforcing the limits at each level. It's definitely going to motivate me to grind a lot more since I don't want to miss any of the levels.

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
It is very easy to see how much rake has accumulated for tournaments on the stat page, but how about cash games? It doesnt seem to be easily listed on that page unless i am overlooking it...
thanks!

I remember on lock merge you see your points easily in cash games. I am just starting on lock. Been hiding out for a few months. I thought by now, we would see some positive changes. All I see is negatives on the forum about Lock and not positives. I would really like to see it work.
There are some Lock pros that I respect and like to see this happen.

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
Not sure why this is causing any issue. Its been listed on their webpage that the prizes were limited for 3 months. Just because they are now doing it doesn't mean its a bad promotion or a step in the wrong direction. If anything, for me, its a positive that they are getting things together and actually have a tracking page for Ronin.
Ronin + that deposit bonus is the "most valued" promotion I've ever been a part of by a site (and I've been around for 6-7 years). Value for the player isn't an issue for Lock.

Re: AUGUST PROMOTIONS
Say what you want about Lock, but their promotions are the top notch. Sure, they have problems that still need working out, but the value comes close to making up for it. There are still some people having issues and I hope they are taken care of. Remember there are many players having no issues on Lock, but don't post anything here.

Interesting. With current Rakeback percentages totaling over 100%, i can definately see this site being a target for botters.
