Unless Shane himself spoke to some1 at Lock who doesn't know the difference, and he said "rake chase" and Shane just passed this on

I'm not even sure there is standardize terminology for race and chace. But,

Race...I think of race as everyone lining up at the start, then boom the start and only a few win (i.e. limited rewards August version).

Chase...I think of as individually chasing your way up tiers. There is no one else getting in your way or limiting your rewards (i.e. unlimited rewards any other month besides this August that Ronin has run or like Pokerstars VIP).

But this is far from the only way of using those terms. Better yet is to just say I prefer unlimited rewards. August Ronin had limits at the top of 4-100. Pokerstars SNE, though yearly instead of monthly can be used for comparison. PS SNE has over time grown and currently has more than 100 SNEs. And some of those SNEs didn't even get serious about their push until late in year. If on Lock, many of those SNEs would have been crap out of luck not being the first 100, and people that made a late push wouldn't have even tried.

Lady, your definition of what you think a rake chase is runs contrary to what I copied in my post which came from some site after a Google search. I honestly don't care and I never knew there was a difference before. But based on what I copied from elsewhere in my last post, it appears that your definitions may be incorrect or, at least, there is some difference of opinion on how to define them.

According to that definition from a different website, rake chase is the correct term for ronin even with a cutoff in number of prizes.

I agree it is better to simply emphasize that the unlimited thing is important to you. The whole chase vs. race definition and terminology argument is not worthwhile.

Yeah. A few post above I wrote, "is it a rake chase or a rake race?". I should have written, "is it a limited or unlimited Ronin replacement?"

Im not sure what the confusion is about, Ronin has always been a rake chase and I have always described it that way and I have continually said Ronin will be replaced by a new rake chase.

Even when Ronin was being ran contrary to its own description it still wasnt a rake race as a rake race has players fighting for set positions on a final leaderboard. It was just a rake chase that was unlimited.

Also I just announced the Ronin replacement here: Battle of the Knights
