Another Rakeback/VIP Question.. Another Rakeback/VIP Question..

07-31-2012 , 04:26 AM
Hey all,

So this may be (probably) answered somewhere in the forums but ive been trawling it for about an hour now and cant seem to get a conclusive answer. Most of the responses im finding are old (pre-revolution)..

Questions are:

1) Does it a Rakeback player take longer to climb the VIP levels?

2) Does it take a Rakeback player longer to clear a deposit bonus?

A straight answer would be greatly appreciated. In return you too can stare at Keyra Augustina's ass on my avatar She wont mind...

1) no

2) yes, and given the fact Lock's bonus is ~40-45% effective rakeback, this is very significant

For most value, i suggest being Rakeback untill you hit SilverVIP, then ask support to change you to VIP instead.

Thanks for your reply.. Yeah from what ive read i see its best to be on RB till you hit silver/black VIP.. Just wasnt sure of the bonus% value in effective rakeback. Do u mind telling me how you arrived at the ~40-45% number?
I did my own calculations but the value was much less than this.

Cheers!

Lockpoker.eu says:
Bonus will be paid out in increments of $5, for each 84 VIP points earned.
Points are earned at the following rates: Ring Games: $1 Rake = 1 VIP point.

Sooo for example if i were to rake 2K in a month, that would be 2000 points.
2000/84 = 23.8 x $5 = $119

119/2000 x 100 = 5.95% effective RB.

Im sure im missing something but this is what/how i arrived at that figure.

Except it's Dealt method, which means you have to multiply by the average amount of people on your table. It's going to be different if you play 6-max or 9-max etc. you're sharing the rakeback with everyone on your table basically, regardless of the action any given person is giving.
"•Points are earned at the following rates: Ring Games: $1 Rake = 1 VIP point, Tournaments: $1 Fee = 7 FPP."

Given your logic/calculations, tournament players get 7 times more rakeback than Cash game players. Sounds fair? Nop, which is also why it's not true. What they did is take 7 as an average amount of players on a cashgame table so the return is similar for tournament players and cashgame players. 5.95%x7 = 41,65%

I'll give you an example: I cleared $675.00 in bonus so far. My monthly rake paid is 2,090.47$. That's 32.3% right there, why not 40+? Because at the start i was in the Rakeback program, and was clearing the bonus at only half the rate.

Perfect. After posting that i realized that could be the case..
Thank hell for the dealt method huh? Kicks the **** outta Stars thats for sure
Cheers McCormick, appreciate your help mate.

Sorry for asking this many questions but how much is the rakeback paid? and are you eligible for rakeback directly when you open an account at Lock or do you have to open it through a random affiliate site? If you have rakeback how does it affect the clearance of the 200% deposit bonus? Can you switch between rakeback and the VIP program freely when you want? Thanks guys! Im just wondering if there is a big difference by choosing the VIP or rakeback when you start playing at Lock.

36% every few hours, deposit bonus is cleared at half the rate, you can swap freely by asking support

I recomment starting with Rakeback and swapping over once you hit SilverVIP.

Thanks Mcc, and do I only have to open an account at lockpoker to be eligible for the rakeback? or do I need to open it through an affiliate site?

No need for an affiliate, but if you don't, you'll need to contact support to be changed over, which may or may not take a while to be done.
