Hello to all,

I'm desperately needing some help out there and I ran out of solutions and things to try, so I'm really hoping to be able to find some help here. I'm a visually impaired person, and I'm really looking to play poker online with real money. Trust me, I've been searching for years and the only thing i found was the everleaf network with scripts for my screen reader, JAWS For Windows. It worked really well until the network closed, and now I can't play online poker anywhere. Basically, I'm using a screen reader, JAWS For Windows, to read what's on the screen as text. The reader reads what's on the screen for me, so I would need something that would allow me to read my cards as text, as well as the actions the players take, plus the community cards on the table. I'm hoping someone is able to help me here, and I'd even be willing to pay for a feature like that, because I'm really tired of not being able to play poker online. If you wish to contact me, my email is seb2314@gmail.com

Kind regards

Some sites have a dealer chat box which I imagine would be pretty easy to grab the text from and make available to a screen reader. I know WPN has this feature.

I wonder if regulated online poker sites in the US are legally obligated to provide screen reader/aria support? Maybe you can sue and then have a nice starting bankroll

Thanks a lot for the infos! Can you confirm if WPN has your cards plus the board cards in the chat box? If they do it might be pretty accessible. Thanks again

It looks like WPN actually uses images embedded in the chatbox to display the cards but all actions/betsizes etc are in text, so it may not be as easy as setting up a screen reader.

I found an old thread in the software forum and bumped it for you, http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/45...-text-1333321/

I just downloaded true poker on the WPN network, and to be honest this is great. Like you said, the only problems are the cards not being shown in the chat box as text, but other than that, everything is 100% accessible for me.

Off the top of my head - Party, Ipoker and Microgaming have easily accessible "dealer chat" text. No idea if it still applies, but in the past PokerStars too if you ran PokerOffice (it subclasses their dealer chat box and exposed the text).

Party may have changed, been a long time since I played there and they have since banned FPHG which did a similar thing.

Microgaming is incredibly easy - a single ControlGetText command in AHK will retrieve perfect information.

Ipoker somewhat tougher, but it's an Internet_Explorer control showing the text so wouldn't surprise me if a screen reader can access it by default. for my purposes (Tableninja-like hotkey betting with AHK) I need to access it with COM and get the document.innerHTML.

Ironically, clients would like scripts for WPN but I cannot access them whatsoever with AHK lol. Any tips appreciated!

To _dave_:
Man, the microgaming is just what I was looking for. This is simply awesome. I downloaded 32red, and now I see everything in the chat, although I'd have to find a way to be quicker, since my screen reader leaves the chat window when I do an action like calling, raising or folding. Do you know if shortcut keys exists for such actions? Again, thanks so much, this is a big step forward.
