Open-source software to record 1 table? Open-source software to record 1 table?

I want to record either a section of my screen or one window (one table) on my screen. I have software on my other computer that I used to make videos for coaching, but I'm looking for an easy open-source program I could use. Quality doesn't really matter as long as it's good enough to see the screen names clearly. Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Try CamStudio.

Can anyone help me with a CamStudio problem?

I can record a video ok, but I need to send it to someone and can't work out how to do that.

When I save the video as an .avi file, it is too big to send by Gmail. And when I save it as .swf and send it, it won't play-back because Firefox is telling me I need to update FlashPlayer even though I have the latest version. I think those are the only two formats I can save videos as?

Sorry, I'm not technical so really can't seem to work this out on my own. Any advice gratefully accepted.

Thanks.

use Swiff Player to play .swf files. It's free, download here http://www.globfx.com/products/swfplayer/

How big is the avi file you're trying to send. If its under 50MB you can use a service like yousendit.com . If its over 50Mb but under 300MB try sendspace.com

Also activepresenter is another free alternative to camstudio

FWIW, Camtasia allows multi-computer installs with a single license provided only one person is using the program.

Also, hi CTH!
