Hi,

Anyone have suggestions for books or online courses on cloud software architecture, design patterns, etc.

I am not looking for the IT part (ie: how to deploy Azure)

Thanks!

I don't know about books/online courses. I'd take a look at blog posts from the big companies that use cloud architecture (Netflix, LinkedIn, Pinterest, etc.).

There's also a lot of good material from the Amazon conferences (https://www.youtube.com/user/AmazonW...sort=dd&view=1). Off the top of my head the Netflix sessions are awesome and I also remember a NASA session about how they used AWS for one of their big mars missions that was really pretty cool.

You can find some courses on Pluralsight
I know too little about cloudcomputing to know if they are of any value, but I have found the majority of Pluralsights courses on other subjects to be very good.

It depends what you are looking to do , it sounds like you want case Study's which AWS has tons of. I'm actually certified for AWS SySops and heading to Vegas for re:Ivent ( Amazons cloud computing conference)

So there is the
"How it works?"
"Why should I do this?"
"How do I implement this?"
and
"Where can I take this?"

AWS Architect is very high level how it all works and plays with each other but it is "sorta" techie.

But almost all "good info" is on blog posts or AWS forum's there community is huge and most thing the paper medium is dead since the medium is evolving , I can happily answer questions about it though if you got some.

I can second that Pluralsight courses are a good starting point for "big picture" on cloud computing. I've used Pluralsight, and have done the couple CC courses they had at the time.

Enjoy killa, I had to choose between re:Invent and the National Association of Convenience Stores convention in Vegas a couple weeks later. The latter is less informative but the swag is better.

I assume you googled and read all the top links that are returned when you search for: cloud software architecture

What specifically did you find helpful from what was returned? What did you learn? What did you find lacking?

It's hard to give you a next step, without knowing where you are.
