Ask me about being a ERP/CRM/BI/CLOUD/MOBILE recruiter.....

Hey guys, this was pre approved with Jalex and I promise I do not plan to hawk my wares.

I know you guys have plenty of problems dealing with Agencies and recruiters in general, if there are any questions you want to put to me (or just throw abuse at me for my soulless profession) go right ahead.

How much should a relatively experienced ASP.net c# web developer expect to earn with a relevant degree and industry experience?

If I care more about code than degrees as employer for freelancers, how is your industry helpful to me?

How long/how many clients does an agency need in this business to become competitive iyo? How many of them are trustworthy/competent?

I've heard that recruiters make good money.

Who makes more money? An IT recruiter or ...let's say a JEE developer...each with same years experience.

I was about to ask a similar question but from a different angle.

FWIW I have worked in the ERP industry. How do you handle the tech/business gap. I can't exactly put my thoughts into words but I am probably a fairly rare breed in that I'm a tech-nerd but also don't mind/actually like business related stuff. The gap between the two worlds is quite amazing (mostly because business people tend to be dumb and tech people tend to know it imo )

If I were going to pitch myself to an ERP company how would you suggest should I sell my core competency of being a "seamless walker between both worlds". From my own estimation I'm a pretty rare kind of walking skillset but many companies don't even realize or care about said skillset.

Also I have worked in recruiting both for programmers and business people myself (for a company, not as an outsider) and have used rather unconventional methods at times. I think I found some pretty good programmers that way. How much weight do you put on university degrees vs freetime projects and do you have any unconventional recruiting methods?

I have 15 years experience with PeopleSoft/Oracle ERP/CRM/BI.
How do I add CLOUD/MOBILE to my resume, and how much can I get paid now?

From my experience, OP's response time accuratly reflects the response time of these recruiters and if you pretend people asking questions ITT are customers it also reflects the value they put on their customers.

So I suppose not a worthless thread.
tl;dr: lol recruiting

Re: Ask me about being a ERP/CRM/BI/CLOUD/MOBILE recruiter.....

So sorry guyss I have been very busy lately. I will keep in active contact now I promise. I will address the points raised

Millbrother - The easiest way is to get in contact with an agency who you trust. The cloud market is miniscule but is growing at a phenominal rate. My company is SAP focused but is moving that focus for the first time in 14 years to Salesforce as we speak. If you have that amount of experience and have a proven track record within ICT agencies will snap you up because the demand will be huge soon, therefore the price is reflected in this.

Wellju/Clowntable - I really think there are lots of great ERP recruiting companies out there. The truth is you are not dealing with agencies, you are dealing with people. The key is to build a relationship with a recruiter. I for one try not to just talk to consultants when I need to. Sometimes I will call on the basis they might need help. The simple answer to this is keep a relationship. All companies have there competent people and people who are crap.

I will be honest we don't fucs on freetime projects because nobody can clarify the level of work you have done easily. We look to work with consultants who have achieved great results, because as you can appreciate we want to keep are clients happy and not just our consultants

Recruitment is bloody tough as I am sure you know. Not many sales people can say the product they are selling has an opinion

tbh I have been away from 2p2 due to a lack of poker, I kind of forgot about this thread (an honest recruiter eh? who would have thought) But I am really looking forward to the UKIPT in Brighton, anyone attending? Keep the questions coming.

Gullanian - It depends mate, I really think going through the certifications is not that important (shockingly), agencies look at previous track records, the cloud market is going to really become big (I work pretty much purely with SAP, so I wish this was not the case!) I think you could easily earn €550 - €650 a day in this market right now.

Thank you for the honest answer. I expected something bad, but not something that bad.

How do you pick your consultants, if you can't tell what their skillset is?
