I´m one of those who would want a separate Poker history forum. Many have suggested that poker history could be discussed here. What do you think?

Then it should be allowed to discuss more recent poker history than 20 years back. I would say that already 1-2 years old poker stuff, that has stayed in memory, is poker history. Among of the most obvious examples is the World series of poker 2003, where Chris Moneymaker won the main event, being one of the key elements for the poker boom. Another important factor for the boom was of course the development of online poker. That is poker history in our time.

The purpose, and stated aim, of this forum is to discuss history - which is defined as being: "Discussion of History up to Circa 1990".

Frankly, I don't see any reason to change this. Or make any exceptions. Once one goes down that road, where does one stop? This is a new forum. Let's give it a chance to succeed as currently defined.

I think I'd prefer an integrated forum. I don't think their is enough breadth of interest/knowledgeable sources for a whole new poker forum. This exception is a pretty safe one, as first and foremost these are poker forums.
Maybe have a "poker history" sticky at the top, where idea's for new threads get posted first; not just any random thread getting chucked in cluttering the place up

NO! The best place for that would be under the General Poker Forums Grouping, which includes NVG (which may soon be split). Recent poker history etc can be discussed under Poker News. That can be worked out later as other decisions are made. For now Poker History shall fall under the General Poker Forums grouping and specifically under some NVG title.
