struggling in nl2k struggling in nl2k

Any high stakes grinders can give me some insight into the skill gap between NL1k and NL2k?

I have been winning consistently at NL1k (11bb/100 after 68k hands and similar or higher winrates at lower stakes). However, I have lost about -25k (although 0 EV/100) over 12k hands at nl2K. Obviously, running bad played some part in my losing, but at the same time, my wwsf is about 3% lower than at other stakes.

Are these NL2k regs world class players from other sites like stars that I shouldn't mess with? Even some players who I consider "fishes" give me some trouble with very aggressive lines. I always try to play at the highest stake as I can within my bankroll limit for the money and the challenges it provides. But obviously, it has given me non-existent profit and a great challenge =\

Also, I been using 45 buyin rule for limit up to nl1k. Should I use a more conservative bankroll approach at nl2k? For now, I am going to move back down to nl1k to recover some losses. Thanks in advance!

the nl2k regs usually can afford a cardrunners subscription and are blessed by the infinite wisdom of taylor caby

Actually it's a serious question. However, I forgot to mention I am talking about bovada which is considered softer than other sites.

Those bovada 10/20 games are much tougher than the 5/10 ones. They are the highest buyin online games offered to US players that regularly run, so you'll find some really good players in there that won't bother playing lower.

OP - most ppl will stop reading your thread at "over 12k hands at nl2k"

variance imo. If you're saying the same thing in another 50-60k hands then I suppose it might be more of a discussion.

yeah 12k isnt big of a sample but I am losing pots considerably more often than in lower stakes (wwsf about 45% at nl2k whereas it is 48-49% at lower stakes)

I will probably give it a try one more time once I am rolled and fight back more postflop and open up 4bet/5bet range a bit more. Although this will add to even more variance=\

I was asking this because I don't really have any poker friends to ask about the skill level difference between bovada nl2k and other sites. =\

Is it not worth my time moving up? I still think I have some room to improve and study off table at least 3-4 days a week.

in before/after/while everyone deposits on bovada to play 5/10

Can't believe ur asking this playing such stakes.

Fine, let's disregard my winrate/lossrate. Can anyone give me an insight on skill gap between nl1k or nl2k in general? Also specifically on bovada?

dont mind the trolls who can't post anything other than "sample size nice" or sh** like that, they obviously don't know anything. Continue with what you are doing trying to improve. With that said I haven't played on bovada, I do however have a few friends playing 1k and 2k. Telling that the skill difference really varies as obviously higher you get more winners to fishes. But in your case. I would just say you should try it out a few more times , my friends are not telling me the skill gap is like HUGE but it is there in some way or form. Play and get a sample size bigger than the current one you have. Im sure you would find your questions now silly and you beating the games. Just keep at it mate. gl

wait, so you wanted someone to say "just work on your game man" and "don't give up yet"?

i could have done that too, but there's more value in telling you to never show your plate to a ***** thats hungry
03-27-2014 , 05:52 PM
WORK HARDER ON YOUR GAME DUDE. and don't show your plate......

Im pretty sure alot of the responses u will get will be from ppl not even beating 100nl.

Yeah, making this thread was a mistake on my part. I should've just found out who is playing nl2k and ask them via pm. So at least I don't have to deal with these unpleasant responses.

nah man, you should have asked at the tables if you're playing good. maybe ask people if they are willing to share their "run it once elite" subscription with you. i hear all their pros beat 2knl.
