Re: Winning alot of money on someone elses account?
not to derail but it sounds like they are sharing the account which is a lot shadier than just him playing on it full time, esp if they are playing the same stakes/games.

Re: Winning alot of money on someone elses account?
Sit down w him and have a calm conversation. Don't allow things to heat up, like it often does w us guys and testosterone. You can solve this while still keeping your buddy. This is a business deal and you will have to compromise. You have gained unjustly by playing on his account which surely must have thrown a bunch of ppl off bc they thought it was him they were playing, so obviuosly he should have a piece of the cake.
You need to present some kind of evidence of how much you have been playing, an estimate of how much you're up and HOW you reached that estimate. Present him with as much information as possible and tell him you don't want this to ruin it for you guys, but that the two of you need to deal with this in a manner that allows both of you to feel somewhat satisfied afterwards.
Ask him what kind of compromise he thinks is fair. Reason calmly and don't forget to keep it relaxed. You are still buddies.

Say look buddy you can grind that 15k and have fun with it, but you ain't gonna get anywhere. From here on out the cut is 60 me 40 you and I don't give a fk if it's your account.

Re: Winning alot of money on someone elses account?
Seems like an incredibly easy fix to me.
Your "friend" is obviously not your friend, just a lowlife douchebag.
Tell him he has one week to give you your money or you'll go kamikaze on him and email Stars with proof that you played on his account for a long time.
Should be incredibly easy if you're able to tell them exactly in which sets of hands the play differs.
That way, Stars confiscates the money and no one gets it.
You could say that giving him one week leaves him time to get his money off of Stars, but if he's playing for a living he probably can't afford to be banned from Stars permanently (which will include FTP as well, actually)
Make sure you convince him that you'll do it, because he'll most likely try to delay for as long as possible thinking you're bluffing, so just make it a very clear deadline ("money is my bank account on such day at such time at the latest or I'm sending the email; I know you're already thinking about ways to delay this, so just so you know there will be no excuses, no "I just made the transfer, etc..". If the money is not in my account, I'm blowing this thing up").
There's no reason to discuss with people like that. Honestly I don't understand that you haven't resorted to applying max pressure already.
I've been in a similar situation before and learned that these people will never do the right thing, so you just have to force them to do the right thing.
Don't feel bad about losing a friend because that guy is not your friend, so there's really nothing to feel bad about. If what you said is true, he's effectively using whatever leverage he thinks he has because of your situation to steal money from you.
Just let him know that you have way more leverage than he does, because you don't have a GF to pay for, can make a lot more money than he can and with your skills and lifestyle, won't have a problem quickly re-building a roll from SSNL, so going broke is not nearly as devastating for you as it would be for him.
EDIT: To make sure that he doesn't just withdraw everything and bail on Stars/FTP and says **** it, have the discussion and tell him that he has to right now in front of you, withdraw ONLY the money that's yours from Stars.
The next day once the money hits his bank account, he has to again in front of you make a wire transfer to your bank account and confirm it.
If he refuses, you should insta-email Stars (do NOT accept any excuses whatsoever, don't be a pussy) and have all the money confiscated and his account closed.
There's little chance he'll refuse to give you your money, but just in case be ready to execute your threat.

To be honest the OP is kind of incoherent... it looks like you just kinda borrowed his roll and played on it but with no clear deal in mind. Did he intend on staking you or lending you money?

Whatever man. It sounds super standard for a guy who has been playing professionally for 7 years to enter into a pseudostaking agreement with absolutely no forethought on how the money would be managed in the case of him actually winning.

I assumed it would be like this ' hey man your killing you up like 15-20k this week, heres 10k dollars is that cool enough? I figure I can keep a bit cuz I was letting you play on my account but GOOD JOB, thats not what happeend so last night when i played i couldnt even think str8 cuz one check came in and i said dude wheres my part. 'ill goto the bank and get it on monday, ok i say, and theres a couple more checks coming right, he says ya.... and I play a session in which I lose 4k because I got so much on my mind I cant even play straight, this had total ****ed with my psyche... I dont even wanna play anymore on his account til i get some cold cash to make me feel better or start my own roll. we are planning on moving citires and ive said i wont move or anyhting til i have some arnings in my own account, cuz i have kids and stuff , he does not. this is very very taxing on me and a vary delicate situation. I dont like making threats.. and i shouldnt come at him the wrong way, if hes splitting every withdrawl for me from now on i guess that should be fine? I mean i did lose a 4k session last night, allthough usully me sessiion end up about +1200 to 2.6k ... still my mind i cant play str8 without knowing whos winning this money? me or him? he calls us 'partners' i am the only one who pl,ays on the name now, so theres no multi accounting going on for those of u mentioned that

no offense but this just doesnt mean anything in the poker world
I think you have to look at what would have happened in the case where you lost money... If you would have had to owe the whole thing, then you keep all the profits. If your buddy would have had to pay part of it, then he is entitled to that respective part of profit. Seems like in many of those cases your buddy gets a cut imo

This story is not going to end well; and I don't just mean this situation, I mean your entire 'poker career.'
Do yourself-and more importantly your kids-a favor, and get a job. Play poker on the side during the evenings/weekends. If you can win at poker (over a couple year sample), then quit your job when you have a sufficient bankroll.
And you're right, what you're doing is not multi-accounting. It's account sharing, an arguably worse offense.

Why should I get a job when I am making over 5k a week, and we arent sharing an account, I am using it. I understand why some on here are seeming to grab on to that part, but it happens alot more than anyone recognizes. For years you have seen it done on cardrunners, 'this is my friends account' and they are playing high stakes. This isnt even high stakes, its 3-6. Anyway I guess I will stop playing on this account and either find another staker, or ask for a lump sum and jet to thailand where the cost of living isnt astronomical. Thanks for all the input

I have played millions of hands in my poker career, i used to play all the way back to party and paradise and was 12 tabling back then, I have always evolved as the game has and never til I was robbed had this problem, therefore my friend didnt see any risk in me playing and I assumed he was going to be cool about it, I guess its more of a thing that he didnt expect me to be able to beat the 3-6 games when he wasnt even beating them (he was a 5-10 player til he busted his roll almost in one night when some thing in his life was going on....
We are both successful mid to high stakes gamblers, I lived in vegas in a 150 a night hotel for over a year and beat 5-10 and 10-20 live. I am not a fish on a heater like someone posted... I appreciate all the input , i think I need a new stake , or something like 10k and ill go my own way, ill talk to him. It's ridiculous I have to even ask because some days I have 5k days and I am not sure if I am ever going to see the mnoney. I know it sounds ridiculous but this **** could happen to anyone, at any time in 'life' thx
