Yea the guy who was crushing 5/10-10/20 6max online until black friday is just clicking buttons ok. He definitely can play pretty bad when drinking, but when he's playing well he's the toughest player in that game by a mile.

This is the dumbest thread I have read on the forums, and it is not even close. Seriously.

Not because some people are making poor assertions as to the quality of the players, but because, overall, who cares who is the best? Is it possible to know who the best of the players in the "crusher" tier are? Absolutely not.

The long term spans too many hands to keep track of who is actually winning the most money. Nobody knows who actually makes the most correct decisions, which by definition should be the moniker of the "best" player. Trying to sort out the best of the best is like splitting hairs and is a pointless exercise in ignorance and arrogance.

I will say this, though: those players whose main goal is to play big pots with other good players are ones who think too highly of themselves and are missing the point of playing in general: to win money from lesser competition. You want to put people in the cage? Become a prison guard. I come with the sole goal of making money while being socially presentable.

I think all players in the "crusher" tier are equally-good, each having their strengths and weaknesses that revolve around independently-built total game strategies. I will say this, though: my admiration goes towards those players who have the smallest egos; those who go about their business with the mindset of always getting better. AAismyfriend and Gary Stevenson epitomize this mindset, as does mmix. Some of the coolest guys I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, playing, and talking hands with, hands down.
